The Everton Board Thread 2014/15

Is it time for change?

  • I'm happy with the way thing are. Kenwright and the Board should stay.

  • Kenwright and the board need to go. We need change.

I'm saying that we will simply not compete on a level playing field after three years.

Since our poor commercial revenue and .... tv money - wage increase restrictions will mean that Spurs and West Ham can outspend us.

Its at this point our Aston Villa like demise will begin.
Newsflash: we've been outspent by virtually the entire division for a decade love

The cause of a unified fanbase is not helped in the slightest when supporters such as you label others as uneducated, ignorant or complacent because they do not draw your conclusions...

Part, perhaps most, of the problem is that fan wishes (including mine) are schizophrenic.
  • We want a new or improved stadium but we don't want to be priced out of watching the game or have the atmosphere altered.
  • We want increased income generally in the English game so that we can go out and buy sexy European players from poorer European leagues and thus succeed in European competitions but we don't want the compromises (fixture changes, for example) that the TV deals entail. And we would prefer that there is more distance between ourselves and other 'inferior' clubs who are leveled up to us by the new deals.
  • We want the current board to sell to new owners. However, having failed to unearth any secret Everton-supporting multimillionaires during decades of research, these new independent non-Everton-supporting owners should be willing to donate money to the club (rather than invest for a profit) to
    a) enable us to buy the players at the highest end of the Premier League
    b) build us a new stadium in the most desirable location for the fan base
  • The uses to which the new owners put their donation should be subject to a veto by fan organisations.

At what point did I label any part of our fan base as uneducated in my last comment?

Uneducated in that they might not possess your knowledge of the 'genuine facts' and the conclusions that they should draw from those facts.

I don't possess any knowledge that isn't public or truthful. I can't understand why those facts are not questioned enough by our fans, biggest one being no Trophy for 20 years. I have only ever seen us lift an FA cup and I doubt I will ever see us win a league. Excuse my ambition but I want to be challenging for success I want to feel what my dad did in the 80's, I want the kids of our city proudly sporting the new kit, I want people to be proud and know of our history, I want a new ground worthy of this great club and most importantly I want us back where we belong.

What staggers me is that just over 20% of the vote are satisfied with BK and co!

I think folk should be clear, there is little prospect of a new stadium or a revamped GP with in the next 5 or even 10 years. The clubdoes not have the money or the land and Liverpool council is not going to give BK and Co a blank cheque.

Our charismatic leader that's taking us into a new era

Accepting these issues are unresolvable is the first step. We are at a crossroads where we do have to choose. Leaving it any longer with the teams around us moving forward will ultimately make the choice for us so be sure that's what you want.

Which is exactly what the top table said at the BU meeting yesterday.

Theatre ponces in not impressed with Kenwright shocker

http://www.broadwayworld.com/board/readmessage.php?thread=986581&id=3722783&boardid=3

I have heard horror stories on the West End board. But, exactly how bad is he

the man himself is renowned for being very tight when it comes to money, (wasn't he named as paying the least amount of money to his cast in any west end/touring show? correct me if im wrong).

He has a reputation for paying poorly and employs a lot of recent grads to do this, which in turn means he gives a lot of people their start, which in turn means he employs some people who should be nowhere near a professional stage.

As someone who worked with Kenwright over 20 years ago and sometimes now will have contact tru work, I'd just say that he had a bad reputation then and that has only gotten worse. He has total disregard for performers and crew and simply thinks about spinning out the cheapest product and making as much money on the way

Hes crap to work for (pay wise) and you would not believe some of the sets they use, the age of them and the safety of them, he also likes to get the most out of his performers (ie keeps randomly adding on show dates at the last min to the point where you can be doing 12 performances a week)

I believe when Bill is not producing, he does a bit of moonlighting for Cameron Mackintosh as 'Fagin' in Oliver, "you want more".
