The Everton Board Thread 2014/15

Is it time for change?

  • I'm happy with the way thing are. Kenwright and the Board should stay.

  • Kenwright and the board need to go. We need change.

Regardless of all other comments. You know me @the esk

I'm all about finance.

I want Everton's success to be based on our financial success.

Which means earning more money from gates and commercial revenues and not being lob sided and vulnerable on TV revenue alone.

This board are not delivering this and this is harming the long term prospects of the club.

When compared to Spurs and West Ham getting 55000+ stadia

So I do say to the board 'How are you going to respond?'

I'm all about the finance, the finance, no bother.

Some B.S. about how it's a tough competitive market and that we do well to punch above our weight because we're not based in London and have all these major teams in close proximity to us, and how money doesn't grow on trees and we're the good little engine that could and maybe, just maybe, we might finish in the top 6. But no promises and hey, what that in the sky? <points up.... runs away>

Probably something like that.

Now I just need to make it clear. Not having a go at anyone in this thread. At all. We're just debating the issues. Which is good.

I've said time and again. I am very worried about the competitiveness of EFC right now due to the stadium issue which is now getting critical.

q.f. Aston Villa

Speculation is not harmful. However, asserting facts that aren't true is ref: @the esk correct point.

However, one thing is clear. We cannot sit still. Spurs and West Ham aren't. Neither are LFC. Neither are others who will have bigger stadia than us.

What are the EFC board going to do about it?

Thats the fact I want to know.

The cause of a unified fanbase is not helped in the slightest when supporters such as you label others as uneducated, ignorant or complacent because they do not draw your conclusions...

Part, perhaps most, of the problem is that fan wishes (including mine) are schizophrenic.
  • We want a new or improved stadium but we don't want to be priced out of watching the game or have the atmosphere altered.
  • We want increased income generally in the English game so that we can go out and buy sexy European players from poorer European leagues and thus succeed in European competitions but we don't want the compromises (fixture changes, for example) that the TV deals entail. And we would prefer that there is more distance between ourselves and other 'inferior' clubs who are leveled up to us by the new deals.
  • We want the current board to sell to new owners. However, having failed to unearth any secret Everton-supporting multimillionaires during decades of research, these new independent non-Everton-supporting owners should be willing to donate money to the club (rather than invest for a profit) to
    a) enable us to buy the players at the highest end of the Premier League
    b) build us a new stadium in the most desirable location for the fan base
  • The uses to which the new owners put their donation should be subject to a veto by fan organisations.
Here's another one.

Even though it would cost twice as much and probably take twice as long we would prefer to stay at a rebuilt Goodison Park than move to another location. It's been our home for over a 100 years and we don't want to move.

Accepting these issues are unresolvable is the first step. We are at a crossroads where we do have to choose. Leaving it any longer with the teams around us moving forward will ultimately make the choice for us so be sure that's what you want.

Is it too cynical to suggest that the "Bill is ill' chatter occurs when his nibs is on the ropes or has no promises to make of a better future (stadium scheme, annexe, marquee signing)?
Based on past experience absolutely not

So I do say to the board 'How are you going to respond?'
They will respond by showing you the middle finger and continuing to wreck this club for personal gain

Well everyone knows what I'm like when it comes to issues and responses like this. I'll not let it go.

If they think I will they're in for a surprise.

I'm not a traditional kenwronger by any stretch too.
