LOL

The Board will step down at a time when it chooses to do so. No amount of pressure from the fans or protest groups can change that.
Interestingly the change of tone by Blue Union is an acknowledgement of that, and one which I welcome.
I'm not lecturing you mate, but we see all this talk of "kicking out the board", but it doesn't work 99% of the time.
For one thing, it's almost impossible to put financial pressure on the board of Premier League football clubs these days. The board members don't take the majority of their income from the club, and the money coming in from Sky etc is so astonishingly massive, that it makes gate income almost inconsequential.
In terms of financial pressure, what's the absolute most the BU could hope to accomplish? We'll probably sell about 25k season tickets this season (give or take)... So let's say out of the remaining 10,000 seats (knocking off the away fans), they managed to convince 50% to boycott home games - which to be honest would be success beyond their wildest dreams...
That's 5000 seats, at a cost of (roughly) £35-£40 a pop.
That's about £3.5m in gate receipts lost. A lot of money to be sure, but when you consider that Sky money from next season will be about £100m for the team that finishes BOTTOM... it just doesn't make any difference.
Even if they got everyone to stop buying merchandise etc, it wouldn't make much odds... since as we know, the club's income doesn't vary much dependent on the number of sales, under the kitbag deal.
Media pressure might make a bit of difference I suppose, but the BU hasn't shown any ability to actually make this happen in the past. Not to mention the fact that (so far as we know) the board's plan is to make tens of millions in profit on the eventual sale of the club at a time to suit them...
How much abuse would you put up with for tens of millions?
Can you explain little bit of that changed tone part? How have they changed?
lolI'm not reading all that waffle
I think the change is subtle, but the move from "Kenwright out" to "stagnation out" is a step in the right direction.
Will be interesting to see the reports from the BU meeting tomorrow - I'd like to have attended myself but sadly could not be in Liverpool tomorrow.

Bizarro, how do you pressure the board though? Financially it's extremely tough unless you can influence either the creditors or the sources of revenue which seem extremely difficult to do. I suppose you could try to make Earl's life miserable with a social media campaign against his other interests but that won't be easy. And anything directly against Kenwright will not make a great deal of difference, or be very pleasant, if he is as ill as some rumours say.
You out debate them on public platforms.
On the media. On the internet. Everywhere.
You systematically begin applying INCREASING economic pressure and sanctions on the board. Eg boycott of service.
You tell Kenwright politely that small time thinking will see us go back wards over the next three years whilst Spurs and West Ham have spades in the ground.
If Kenwright is indeed ill. Then thats even more reason he should step aside. As he's no longer fit to carry out his duties.
But this comes back to the point. They don't engage in public debate. No fan protest has ever significantly decreased match going revenues as most people will always go to the match. Boycotting merchandise is pretty pointless as Kitbag cover their losses through the Umbro deal and the club get a set amount anyway. Chang are tied in and don't appear to give much of a [Poor language removed] anyway.
Sorry, not trying to be negative and I agree that something has to be done, but something new and imaginative has to be found if there is any hope of making a difference
