With proper investment it could. If we sell Rom for let's assume 40m, we could get a replacement, playmaker, and decent Cb, if spent wisely maybe a GK too. However, I don't trust Roberto with this.

you could not get a replacement striker of Rom's quality for less than 20m at least, playmakers cost big money too. the sell one player, buy 4-5 plan doesn't work. that being said we should be contending for 5-6th and a cup win. top 4 isn't changing anytime soon

The club don,t budget for a 5-6th place. In fact Norwich are the only team at this point in time whom we have spent more than this summer.

as you know, that its extremely difficult for teams outside the top four or five to win a trophy,

They have, sadly the two or three if you count Walton Hall park. We all know why they floundered, and we all know the answer, Joey , I wont say it as it seems to annoy you.
Blue Union have not got a plan because you cant with out money, Simples.

We've had one cup final in 19 years. One. Look at how many teams, and in particular WHICH teams have had the same - or more, as the case may be.

The likes of Bradford, Hull, Birmingham, etc. Even Middlesbrough & Fulham have made Europa finals without necessarily spending like maniacs; so it isn't all about money.

6th best run club - MY ARSE.

Bradford, Hull, Birmingham, Middlesbrough & Fulham!! None of them are even in the premier League! It is absolutely about the money, we all know the Premier league will be won by either Chelsea, Arsenal, Man Utd or Man City no one else has a hope in hell. Sadly. I didn't say 6th Best but I would say were in the group after the top six.

Bar Bradford, the ones mentioned were ALL premier league; WTF are you on about?

Some of them have had more than our solitary final appearance.....Some while in a lower division. I didn't say it was you who said we were 6th best run club; I was pooh-poohing the claim.

Your claim it's all about moolah has been disproved by the teams I've mentioned. They can get to finals & win pots on their budgets. PL or not is an irrelevance.

would you really like a billionaire to buy us?i wouldn't they only tear the heart out of a club and make them soulless playgrounds for overpampered footballers.all you would want is a decent manager and coach 20 million to spend every year while keeping your best players

Esk, who seems most clued up about these things, reckons a new owner needs to spend £250-500m to buy the club, sort the balance sheet, build a stadium and invest a bit in the squad. And that just makes the club competitive for the future, never mind actually winning anything. Only billionaires have that sort of cash to throw at a football club

Ya all depends where they wanted to build this new stadium,what players they wanted to buy etc. Might not be as rosy as it sounds
