Player wouldn't hand in request if we were where we should be challenging for trophies playing European football. Instead on the back of a season finishing in the bottom half the boards response is? The lowest spend in the premier league on a freebie and a player we already had on loan along with s kid for the reserves. Why would any player look at that and think 'yeah we're going places here?' Even if the board reject his request, their legacy is the fact that teenage players are not even willing to give us a few years of their career because they know we are going absolutely nowhere.

This exactly. Been saying it for over 12 months now.

Player hands in transfer request at the time those generally dissatisfied with the board predicted he would, becuase it's not like it hasn't happened before = They were right......Again. :coffee:
Yeah you're right lad a number of players have handed in transfer requests, Lescott, Rooney, Fellaini. All had one thing in common - they wanted to leave. It's how it works.

I suppose Pierce at WBA is trying to con his way to the Berahino fee an all like.

Embarrassing

All had ANOTHER thing in common - they left it very late in the window before they left. And you forgot Arteta..........

Even rats in a maze get the correct route after a while. Takes some a lot longer than others, I'm guessing.

Difference is Lescott, Fellaini and Arteta gave us their best years. They stuck with us long enough to see if we could make it then left. Stones has had two seasons with us one spent mostly on the bench because he was a teenage right back from Barnsley. So he's jumping ship after one season as a first team player. Shameful on both the boards behalf and John Stones'. Fellaini still gets a decent reception at Goodison, Stones' will be worse than Rooney's.
