@Bluesnapper - that's a very simplistic statement. We spent £33m net in the transfer market last summe, so the increase in TV revenue was spent on payer purchases - meaning that the Vibrac loan had to be renewed.

This summer it hasn't been spent in the same manner - YET. If the window closes, there's no further outlay and yet they've still renewed the Vibrac loan then there should be a Stewards.
Nonsense and you know it. There was a massive surplus brought over from the first two windows prior to that money being spent out last summer.

Why d'you feel the need to insult our intelligence?

@davek - I was talking about a new owner, your highlighting of that one word and seeking to take it out of the context of the post is puerile
Ok, new owner. So maybe we can agree that rather than leaving the sale process to Kenwright and his mates, an organisation like PricewaterhouseCoopers should be involved. Give this some integrity and openness?

Anyone see the guy with the 'Kenwright out' banner outside the ground? never seen it inside, mind you couldn't see much of anything from my 'un'obstructed view lol

Stewards were informed to take down any banners inside the ground on safety grounds incase it caused a conflict between fans

I wouldn't think so mate.

Not if he is given money to replace him. He has just tied Kev and J mac to new contracts, doesn't seem like a man who is going to walk away.

If he had been lied to, as some here are suggesting and if Stones is sold against his will I think he might well be tempted to walk.

I wouldn't blame him.

They should be giving him money and keeping hold of Stones.

@davek - it'll all be there in the accounts lad, same as every year, why try and make out there's some form of Scooby Doo mystery about it? It aint complicated, really it isn't.

That's a bit harsh, freedom of speech and all that. I don't advocate such nonsense but it's understandable a lot of fans are fuming at the minute and should be entitled to show there concern.

My view is that if Stones does go this month then Bobby will resign.

I don't believe Stones will be sold.

If he was sold though, I believe it would be at a price which Martinez would be comfortable with. I don't think the board would agree a fee with anyone without Martinez' agreement. All that is a good part of why I don't think he'll be sold.

No, it's not complicated. You can have one year's accounts look like the boat has been pushed out, but if you look prior to that you only have to have the basic skill of subtraction to know that a rollover of cash saved has occurred.

You know all that though.

So we don't want a Billionaire we want someone with 'a plan'...

That's largely a nonsense imo, as any plan will require capital, as the stadium issue is the prime problem facing the club, so merely having 'a plan' means jack.

We need someone who's going to invest their hard earned cash, so let's stop kidding ourselves that it's anything other.

Replacing the current lot with an equally financially hamstrung owner who had a bagful of credible 'plans' but knack all cash to back them up, wouldn't solve our problems in the slightest.

We need a wealthy investor who's prepared to fund the club in the short to medium turn.
As a fan base, we can't demand a sugar daddy billionaire to come in and bankroll a new team and stadium. It's completely out of our hands and to be honest we don't even know if Kenwright and co want to sell.

Regardless of whether we are talking about the current owners or future owners, the absolute minimum we should expect is for the club to be run well, with a chief executive in place capable of maximising revenue streams and the commercial potential of the club.
