So you think that the current majority shareholders at the club are not there to make money? We dont even know who really owns the club
Nobody 'owns ' Everton...the majority shareholders make decisions based on their majority shareholding. Robert Earl is there to make money....Bill and his mate of 40 years are there basically because they're Evertonians. If they wanted to make money, there are easier ways than running a football club.

He bought the club for £20 million and is selling it for £225 million in the words of Dell Trotter "Ive had worse days"

You've written that as if you think that Bill will walk away from any sale with £205 million in his back pocket. I hope you don't really think that.

Saw it first when a friend shared on Facebook. Scrolling through the donations to see the messages and someone is either very generous or forgetful!

No swearing please
It's probably not an unfair thing to say.
Even Bill Kenwrights biggest detractors have to admit that he is a lifelong blue. It could even be argued that it is this deep association with the club that makes him want to stay involved.

It will almost certainly be true also the next Everton owner will be looking at the club as a commercial proposition. They are unlikely to concern themselves over the part players like David Lawson , Dai Davies or Jim Pearson played in our clubs history. That may not be a bad thing.

The one thing that I do feel certain about is that Bill Kenwright will try to sell the club to the person/group that will give the best chance of success going forward as he sees it.
There are an awful lot of bad owners out there and my biggest fear is to have to read posts from people like Davek longing for the days of Bill Kenwright...because then we will really be screwed.
Is that a joke?

True blue bill tried to flog us to a bloke in a one bedroom flat in salford never mind cashing in via Kirby cowshed.

He wants a massive profit on his initial investment despite investing the square root of f*** all.

There is no romantic side where he's desperate to sell us to the right people to take the club forward. He's had 16 years and will take the most he can.

That's not true though mate is it? The ownership of the club is clearly stated in the annual report and accounts, signed off by the auditors.

For the ownership to be different than publicly stated would involve a conspiracy (and criminal act) of huge proportions that has taken place over more than a decade.
So you believe that Philip Green does not have any money invested in Everton?

And you know all this as a fact do you?
Cos its news to most people on here that he's been desperate to sell
I've got news for you, nobody invests in premier football clubs, if they did it would be pissing money down the drain. Unless of course you want a Russian gangster or a sheikh. You heard him uesterday, did that sound like a man who was about to sell us down the river?
Idiot

I am not saying that Bill Kenwright personally will walk away with £205 million but obviously somebody will .If you buy something for £20 million and sell it for £225 million you have made a £205 million profit.
As for easier ways to make money maybe so but the Glaziers and FSG are not envolved because of there love of English football.

No I got all that. Sorry, I must have misread that in my haste as meaning I may have missed some news on that front.
The truth for the vast majority of Evertonians would be for Bill to have remained Chairman under a rich owner.
But his days of achieving that are gone I am afraid. Health issues aside, he is getting too old not for the role. Time for him to think about other things.

Id happily take a sheikh

I do not believe for a minute that Philip Green has money invested in Everton.

Despite the claims of some no one has produced any conclusive evidence.

The fact they haven't invested a penny was revealed by elstone in court. Nothing, zilch, not a penny.

Bill and bob have both been quoted talking about bloke from salford in a bedsit.

Try reading it helps.

Being civil also helps mate.

I think I have a reasonable understanding of the shareholdings and who has invested what in the club.

I am also aware of the errors that have been made in the past, and the lost opportunities through lack of investment over the years.

It simply isn't true.
It is true that somebody scammed their way further along the way than they should have before it was discovered who and what they were ,.
In my opinon that would argue that he was trying to sell the club rather than who it was being sold to.
