Good post mate!

I still believe there'a lots of reasons why buying Everton makes sense even if the capital commitment to wholly develop the club is huge.

I also believe there are enough billionaires out there to find one who would like to take the project on for a raft of reasons.

A premier league club is a trophy asset for many overseas investors/buyers, it offers so much more than just a football club which might or might not make you money.

A club like Everton offers even more given our history, our reputation and stature in the game and yes, the city in which the club exists.

There's an opportunity for someone to buy the club, make it a footballing success once more, regenerate a historic area of what is still a global city, and become part of the what I would call " the northern powerhouse" of football.

Imagine selling the idea that there are 4 world class clubs all within 30 miles of each other, each club with its own very distinct history and personality but 4 of the most famous names in world football.

With investment, a competitive team, our local support base, the building of a truly world class stadium, the development of the area surrounding the club, Everton could sit and enjoy the benefits of being in the most powerful football region in the world, full of history, next to the very roots of association football and the football league.

We should be part of a global attraction, attracting football fans from all corners of the globe

Boy I wish our Board had some vision.

Yeah i agree with everything you've said there @the esk . Having worked in M&A for a rich Arab family many years ago i get the attraction of trophy assets to them as in they are not supposed to make money.

It's probably what galls me most about the lack of vision from this Board. The USA for example is a market that as a business with the likes of McBride, Donovan and Howard we absolutely should have had commercially sewn up already yet speaking with someone inside the club (one of our legends who will remain nameless) he said he wanted to take responsibility for exploring US commercial partnerships the season before last and he was saying that commercially the Board are unconvinced about the potential of the US market. And i just wanted to kick a wall at the lack of vision.

You look across at the Abu Dhabi. They are invested in Manchester City because of the value that brand does to raise the profile of tourism and global exposure / use of their national airline like Etihad. They have a long term vision just like Qatar and Dubai who are using trophy assets to promote their countries as places to visit and stay over.

Totally agree mate....

If all the TV money has actually been gobbled up already, we must be absolutely miles away from being on a strong financial footing. I'm increasingly of a mind that everything about the club's strategy is factored towards simply avoiding bankruptcy. Even a board that was happy to just sit in the Premier League until they were made an offer wouldn't play things as safe as ours do.

Just heard the interview with Joe on the Adrian Durham show.

He told the truth and made lots of great points, straight away an Evertonian text in saying he wa just anti Kenwright.

It seems a section of the fan base may still have the "stick your fingers in your ears" syndrome when told exactly what Kenwright and his board have actually done over the 15 years.

I am struggling to understand why they don't get it.

I got told about nine months ago that the club had the chance to appoint a globe-trotting marketing and sponsorship specialist. The guy certainly had serious, serious connections in North America and the Far East, and was willing to work, in effect, on a commission basis only. My source was absolutely certain that this guy could and would have brought in serious marketing and sponsorship revenue on a global scale, and potentially could have sought investors. He was told thanks, but no thanks and has now gone back to major sports marketing ventures on a global scale for a U.S. organisation.

A lot of blues get their info from the Echo, who are firmly in the clubs pocket.

The leaked emails also revealed plenty of others who put the party line across.

Still dumbfounded we didn't capitalize on the US market after Howard's WC popularity wave. If that's not enough to make you chase this board away then I don't know what to tell you.

I don't understand why this has become an insult.

So what if you're anti-Kenwright? People say it as though it means something to dislike some old fart from Corrie.

That BK fella had plenty to say last summer in the media after a good season yet is as quiet as a mouse this year. Fella needs to make some sort of a statement regarding signings and what's available to spend. Beyond a joke at this stage his lack of communication.

It could be because he is very ill, it could also be because no one at the club has a clue what they are doing, or maybe even a combination of both, all we know for sure is that we cant compete now with Stoke City, which is disgusting for a club that has been an ever present in the top flight for so long.

Everton's financials for 2014 show intangible fixed asset additions of 31 mio. McCarthy was 13mio I'm imagining that the loaning (fees) of Barry, Lukaku and deulofeu contribute maybe 4 million ...can anyone enlighten/remind me as to what the other 14mio is comprised?

we shouldn't be surprised at any incompetence shown by Everton.

Replica shirts can only be purchased online from Kitbag.

Says it all.

I am daily becoming more and more gloomy in my outlook for the Blues.

I used to worry that I would never see us win silverware again in my life......now I will settle for not seeing us relegated before I depart this mortal coil :pint2:
