But Martinez always said the window would play out the way it has so far, maybe he knew his targets wouldn't be available till late on and the club have bided their time like they said they'd have to?

In fact that's far from fooling anybody. They've told the fans of their plans and they've been true to their word every step of the way.
Not on about signings, meant club in general.
Past week has opened a lot of fans eyes at the failing of this board and how badly we are stagnating, hopefully a couple o signings don't make them go back to turning the blind eye, same problems will be there

I can't think of anything from the past week that's altered or could have altered my opinion of the club and how it's run (I've only had one coffee though so far!), what's changed over the last 7-10 days?

When we are being had off by stoke or perceive to have been, penny has finally dropped, stand show hopefully the first of a bit more media attention too

Shaqiri going to Stoke will be nothing to do with the board, Martinez maybe, the player and his agent definitely, but not the board.

It's well known that all football related matters are the managers decision and the board would never force a player on the manager here.

It's down to them if we can't match stokes offer, but whether we did or didn't go for him, the perceived idea that we lost out to them lit the fume which opened a lot of people eyes how much we are drifting backwards off field

hoenstly don't know where to start with that.

On the most basic level the board decides how much money is available to Martinez both for fees & wages so that 100% effects whether players come here.

Then you go into the stadium, training ground, infrastructure & ambition.

Martinez is likely given a budget at the end of the season to work within, how he distributes that will be his choice not the boards. Shaqiri may well have wanted £5m a year and he's not prepared to give him that, we don't know and never will know why it didn't happen. Maybe he just thought Stoke was a better fit for him, maybe he liked the idea of being the big fish in the small pond.

The fact that talksport had a phone in wont have altered anyone who has serious opinions on how the clubs run one way or the other, at best it was a platform for people to vent just like this and other forums.

Yeah and until all our business is finished in this window we'll never have an idea of whether Stoke had a bigger budget than us.

As for the stadium, it's a dump. It may be more modern than Goodison but it's literally built on a landfill site and is sinking.
Finch farm is often refereed to as one of the countries leading training facilities, I've never even heard of Stokes training ground.

I'm not sure what you mean about infrastructure to be honest, but historically our ambition has always been European football or better Stokes has been promotion and avoid relegation.

He'll have a rough idea what is budget is yea but he's not the one negoiating and doing the deals, he's probably just the one who gives the last seal of approval.

If you don't see the change in opinions over the past week about the running of this club fair enough but to me it's quite obvious there's been a bit of a shift in how people are looking at it now with the talksport interviews hopefully a few more media pick up on it a little and we get a little momentum in getting the questions asked that need answers too.

There's honestly not much point in carrying on if you genuinely think the board & their performance hasn't got anything to do with us signing players

We don't even own finch farm mate, and also stoke have recently built there own which is one of the best in the uk.

If you honestly don't think they're catching us and probably now competing with us I worry

They'll be aiming for the same goals as we are
