Anyone else hear this on Talksport this morning:

Did anyone elses ears [Poor language removed] up when he was talking on Talksport this morning about Crystal Palace and said he has been told another 'top team' was due to be taken over in January by Americans but he didn't want to say who it was as he had been told in confidence.....probably a load of [Poor language removed] but could it be us?

I heard that, and I've also heard a few other rumours regarding us being taken over by Americans, so instantly thought he meant us.

It's a tough one, I'm struggling to think of any American owners who have proved a success in English football.

Robert Elstone : you're a director of one of the most famous clubs in England. You're a publicity seeking American. The last mention of Everton in your Twitter feed is January ; and it wasn't even by you. You're the worst money grabbing capitalist imaginable. You have no interest or comprehension of what the Club means to hundreds of thousands of supporters. Why don't you just bugger off ?
Thank you hot toddies and goodnight.

Think you meant Earl, not Elstone there ?

Lerner originally invested money in the hope that Aston Villa would get Champions League, they spent something ridiculous like £80m in one year. It wasn't his fault that O'Neil absolutely blew it on awful players.

These jokers haven't invested a bean into this club and just been happy to sit there collecting money from player sales and Sky.

I wouldn't be using Lerner as some sort of stick to beat the Anti-board supporters with. Any fan who supports this board must have no sense of ambition for what was one of the country's greatest ever clubs.

So you are saying Lerner is better Chairman than Bill Kenwright?

Maybe he meant Robert Earl Keen? He's from Houston and a well liked musician (by some). Robert Earl is definitely English.

It is like asking what disease you want to kill you.

Lerner has invested more money into Aston Villa than what Kenwright has into Everton.

You're trying to make some point here by saying 'Look at Lerner, do you want him?'

How about looking at City? I know that goes against your agenda here though of takeovers actually being successful.

3 failed ground moves, NTL deal cock-up, selling off of our major assets over the years, no investment into Goodison, couldn't even build an office block at the end of the car park and no club presence in the city centre for years.

But yes, let's look to the lower clubs as some sort of barometer of what we should and shouldn't be happy with.
