It's all TV money and player sales, basically. Without those, given this board's T-Rex arms when it comes to reaching into their own pockets over the years, we'd be in the Evo-Stik Premier League by now. I don't have to tell you of all the failures this board has overseen. About the only thing they've done right is to avoid knee-jerk reactions when it comes to managers; they stuck with Moyes (probably a bit longer than they should have) and show no signs of ditching Martinez. And that's probably down to trying to avoid compo as much as anything else. The marketing department is an embarrassment, the legal beagles are rabidly going after small-business owners in Doncaster, the suntanned wonder is abysmal in his job, there's yet another failed ground move on the cards, need I go on?

The litany of failures at Board level is agreed and understood, however I do not understand your point about it being easier to spend the club's money when the Board own the majority of the club. Indeed making large capital investments is arguably more difficult in a poorly capitalised business than a well capitalised business,

I'm no fan of the Board but it can be argued that given the capital constraints placed on the business by the owners and the lack of contribution from commercial sources (caused by a lack of capital and therefore an inability to recruit highly skilled professionals) the quality of the teams put out on the pitch far exceed the resources applied to them.

For a start Villa never spent £28m on Bent.

As for how many clubs have sold players for £20m+ I'd suggest there's plenty, probably at least 50% of a premiership leagues worth.

Also every club faces the same inflated prices not just Everton you know.
We are paying Lukaku on the drip, they spent around the same on Bent as what we did on Lukaku.

When we've sold players for £20m+ has that money always been reinvested?

You're the one making a big deal about having a £28m striker as some sort of sign that Kenwright has been good for us. I remember Fulham spending £13m on a players about 12 years ago, would be a lot more with nowadays inflation.

Money has become massive in the game now and it has been redistributed throughout the leagues, Fulham again signing £12m on a Championship player.

Bill has not raised this money, without Sky we would have the begging bowl out.

There is no forward thinking with this board, no plan, it is all take and no give. This is clear with the failed stadiums, embarrassing ourselves blaming the council for their failure to deliver a 3rd stadium.

You carry on backing this board though, let's see how far we progress.

See Villa..see Fulham...see where they are right now don't you?

How on earth can you be saying "look how awful Kenwright is and treats us. Fulham and Villa are just like us.."

Yes, I've seen how fast them clubs have fallen through a bad manager.

Make no mistake about it, we were a bad manager away from relegation and Villa should be a warning for us now.

We don't invest in the team, only what we recoup or if we do invest it is a very low amount. How is that a realistic business plan?

Aston Villa have a better infrastructure than us and will always be the biggest club in the second biggest city in the country. We will always be the smallest club in our city and we have Man Utd and Man City on our doorstep.

I'd love to know what your expectations for this club is.

As I've said who's job is it to employee the "right" manager?...would that be Kenwright?

We do invest in the team, the fact that we buy players at low prices and sell them at a profit shows this. It's the most basic and profitabley moral way to make money in football.

As for Villa bring the bigger club in Birmingham, who cares? It's like worrying Newcastle are a one club city ffs.

He took a punt on an up and coming manager with the advise from Smith.

We were almost nailed on certain for relegation, it isn't like he sought out an absolute top manager to save us, is it?

A lot of the 'investment' in the team, an I use that term loosely, has come from Rooney. He allowed us to buy Arteta, etc to sell at a profit. Again, it isn't Kenwright's business nous.

My point with Villa is if they can fall from a similar position that we are in now, don't think we can't when they have a better infrastructure.

So for the second time I will ask you, what are your expectations for Everton?
