Playing Devils Advocate here.

If and a big if this is all real and goes ahead and whatnot, reading up about this fella i can see the outcome being something like this.

Initially we are more succesful, sign some good players and progress, perhaps even 'god forbid' get into the top 4 and into the champions league. then the money will kind of dwindle like it is now and the lack of investment will come to light again, despite the club being in a much better position.
Meanwhile, off the pitch a new stadium is commissioned and over time it finally gets built. The lack of money on the pitch gets connected to the new stadium ala an Arsenal situation but we all go along with it because of the new stadium we are getting. It finally gets built and nothing changes in terms of money, and it becomes apparent the owners are pocketing the money for themselves the whole time, except the value of the club has gone over what the owners paid so the asking price is balked at by prospective buyers. This then puts us in a no win situation, better run but no success coming from it.

so getting in 4th, being in a better league position, becoming worth more money, having a new stadium, but the owners take some money despite us becoming better.. isn't succesful?

how's that work?

also this is just one mad theory based on nothing really..

I like the theories on the timings of announcements. There are 2 transfer windows, 2 opportunities to buy season tickets, the AGM and End of season reviews and financial accounts etc, which means for about 7 months of the year there are key events, so it is more than 50/50 that news breaks on one of these occasions. As a club reluctant to change and a fan base who sing more about history than anything else I understand our reticence to accept a change (Moyes is still mentioned on here) but let's hope it turns out for the best and remind the current board before they sell that nothing but the best is good enough.

Also, individually, Moores and Noell don't seem that rich [for premier league standards] but put together, plus with members of the consortium means their worth is around 1.5b.. which isn't too shabby at all.

Well if we dont get near the top 4 after that then is it really a success?

and based on nothing? lol Try that is the EXACT way his baseball team went. no success and he pocketed all the money from both the MLB and the handouts from the red sox and the like (not sure why they got payments from them). They didnt find out til years later he was just making himself rich in spite of the team.

Ashtonian - that's just how it seems to have panned out for the Padres. We need to be careful what we wish for and given this consortium were initially looking to buy Swansea before pulling out suggest they are what they clearly seem to be - carpetbaggers who have the scent of easy money in their nostrils. I sincerely hope and pray I am wrong and that we don't go down a similar route as the Hicks & Gillette fiasco with the RS. We may not have their good fortune in securing an alternative owner if it all goes bottoms up.

We currently have owners who invest nothing.

We have owners who are happy to be average and don't want improvement.

We own practically nothing of our own, under these owners...

Our commercial deals have been absolutely awful.

we have..3.. failed stadium moves..

and none of our board have any business plans what's so ever.

So forgive me if i think that these people are actually better than what we have, because even if they are a bit shady it wouldn't take much at all to out do our current board.

If kenwright owned the pardes or whatever they probably would have ran him out the country.

as for having the 'scent' of easy money.

There are cheaper clubs to buy than Everton for 200m, if they wanted easy money they could have went and bought a championship club who are close to promotion for half the price, and done it that way.

but what championship club has assets like Lukaku , Barkley ,hibbert, stones and osman ?
I just doubt they'd spend 200m on a club, which has the potential to have a very successful return on the pitch, which in turn would be successful finances / off the pitch revenue if they had planned to come in and just sell our superstars like osman.

My only question is that has there been a successful American takeover thus far?

I'm mainly positive about this but that's a small concern
