"We started getting runs in Europe"
one time we got to last 16 or something! hardly cause for celebration.
no one feared or fears us, as our record against anyone decent will show, especially in games with pressure.

Plenty of runs in Europe, whether you wish to celebrate it or not, remember this period, plenty of Europe or battles for the European places in there..

They properly hated playing us. 4 Losses in all that time... 11 Wins..

I find it funny how people are using where we finished under Kenwright's eye as a barometer for success but completely ignore Moyes who ACTUALLY got us those finishes. A chairman should be judged on what the club does OFF the pitch because they have ZERO bearing on what happens on.

Moyes... who Kenwright employed?... who bought players in via staff that Kenwright employs?..

I agree that if we have a rubbish vacuum cleaner, then whilst its Kenwrights responsibility as he hires the people who employ the people who employ the procurement people who bought the hoover, and everything leads up to the top if you look at it in that sense, ultimately responsibility for the Chairman has to have a line.
Blaming him for the coffee machine being out of coffee, whilst actually correct, is ultimately a bit daft so we cannot credit him with every decision that goes correctly or blame him for every decision that goes wrong (though many try)... But to ignore Kenwrights role in getting Moyes in, and getting the players he wanted in, or getting a Billionaire investor in, is as daft as ignoring Kings Dock or Kirkby in the overall analysis of his time here..

Bottom line, I mostly care about the continuation of this club, and what happens on the pitch.. And under Kenwright, and under Moyes, and with the working relationship they had... we stepped out of the shadow of such giants as Villa, Sheffield Wednesday, Middlesbrough and Derby who we sat behind at the end of the 1999 league ... and started chasing down some big spenders like Spurs and Liverpool, moving from bottom half to fighting for Europe.
That for me is progress. Progress is good. So for me, his time here has been positive, because good is positive.

Could it of been better? Yes
Could it of been worse? Yes

A chairman should be judged on the same merits as a manager... Results, and whether he leaves us better than when he joined us, for us he has.. Though he clearly could of done more.

But then at the same time people mention that we have won nowt since he took over and use that as a desperate stick to beat hm with, can't have it both ways.

What he did off the pitch is keep away from administration, keep is in a position where we might of been standing still at times but we haven't gone the same way as sides like Leeds, Portsmouth and Blackburn which we easily could of done if it wasnt for Kenwright.

And Kenwright bailed out The Goodison Supper Bar !

Do you reckon he could buy them some Dettol?

I think we will find that our Finance Director was removed from the building this week. He became the latest top exec to acknowledge that he couldn't work with our beloved CEO - so he's been snapped up by the RS!
Time for a change Mr Moshiri.
