That's why protests happen. Things don't just change because all of a sudden there's this massive opposition.

You don't just give up because there isn't everyone on board.

Personally - and lots like me - think there's a very compelling case why this board must go. There are others that don't. That's no reason for people to give up.

If one lad hadn't start a petition, we'd still have that crappy badge.

Change has to start somewhere.

Mighty oaks from little acorns, and all that.........

From the Telegraph :
Fan group behind Everton fly-by protest during Southampton win insist it's "the start of our campaign"
The Everton Board Out group flew a “Kenwright and Co, Time to Go” banner above St Mary's and promise there will be more protests against the chairman
A leading Everton supporters group has warned that Saturday’s fly-past protest at St Mary’s is “just the start of a campaign” to persuade chairman Bill Kenwright to quit the club.

An aeroplane trailing the message “Kenwright and Co, Time to Go” flew over the stadium ahead of kick-off in a game which Everton won comfortably, a protest arranged primarily by the Everton Board Out group.

“This is not just a short term issue,” said Joe Jennings of fan group SOS 1878. “The logic behind the Southampton game was that it was televised. It’s been spoken about on Match of the Day and in every national newspaper so from that perspective, it’s worked.”

The victory on the South Coast was an emphatic one for the Toffees but Jennings concedes that the result may “paper over the cracks” of longer term issues he feels the club must address.

I’m completely delighted with the result and the performance,” said Jennings. “This isn’t about Everton not spending significantly this summer. There is no semblance of a business plan.”

“Bill Kenwright has been saying for years that the only plan he has is to sell the club. He says he’s the best salesman for Everton Football Club. If you haven't sold something in 16 years, you need to consider whether the price is the issue.

How can Bill Kenwright and his board, having initially bought the club for £20m, justify an obscene 900% return on their investment having not invested a single penny into the business.”

Jennings is among a growing number of Evertonians concerned that the club is “falling behind” both their historic rivals and newer Premier League forces such as Stoke and Leicester.

“Success is in the DNA of Everton Football Club. We are the football club of firsts and others have followed our lead since 1878. We are the sleeping giant of British football that needs awaking from a terminal slumber,” he added.

Out of interest, where has the 900% return figure come from? Is the asking price £180M? And is that public knowledge? Also is this a new group, or an offshoot of the Blue Union and stuff? I've never heard of the group Everton Board Out before.

The EvertonBoardOUT group have been around for several months and formed because they felt the Blue Union wasn't doing enough to protest.

Ironically, both Blue Union and SOS1878 are all working together with EvertonBoardOUT now.

I'm not certain on this, but I believe once someone hits >29.9% of the shareholding then they're obliged to make an offer for the rest of the shares.

As it is, kenwright has around 26%, earl holds something like 23.5%, woods around 19%.

Earl & woods would only go to the 29.9 limit as they'd see their arses if they reached the threshold to make the mandatory bid & everyone (Or the majority) accepted their bid. Earl probably has the cash, but not the will; and woods doesn't have either, so if they went to 29.9% each that'd leave around 10.5% on the open market.

This is only strictly true of public and quoted companies, it must be remembered that Everton is a private company.

There is provision within the takeover code to apply this rule to private companies but I doubt very much it would apply to Everton.

Ta for putting me straight ;) I wasn't certain whether it applied to the club or not.

There must be an orchestrated campaign by this new group tonight. 606 is flooded with Blues, and not to talk about Stones. Finch Farm, "lost" transfer fees, stagnation, the whole 9 yards.

This whole thing is pointless - Portsmouth, Leeds, Peter Johnson - what's the point when these things sound so logical to the regular fan? Better than some other teams and the previous board so people will believe that we're fine
