You do realise you haven't answered my point, don't you? Its nothing to do with investment, its to do with making cash available when its needed.

Wouldn't have been needed/necessary if we'd got king's dock. Wouldn't have been needed/necessary if bill had found the 'investment'. We already owned the bloody thing, now we rent it & the cost has increased.

Short-termism in all it's [vain]glory.

Some of it was, but youre being selective and very naive if you are seriously thinking that you can base an argument on interpreting that as all the ooc went on mowers.

Yeah because that's the best they could come out with. Why? Because they were stuck. And when people are being deceitful they come out with all sorts of whoppers, when push comes to shove.

Why is the commonplace business action of selling a property and leasing back in order to release funds a 'fiasco' just because its Everton? Is it a fiasco when the HSBC, HM Government, many large department store groups, and other major ,successful business concerns do it ?
Look at the figures steve we owned the land would have cost us about 4 million to build on it , dont forget we had money from bellfield and the Netherton training grounds sales , instead we rent it out over a term that far surpass the outlay it would have cost to build and own it . About the same as buying kone less his wages
Cant recall the figures but it is something like 50 million on the length of the lease.
Not a good deal that I can see.

Exactly.

Labour are rightly blamed for PFI. Why's bolly billox allowed to escape criticism for what's essentially the same thing?

There is not a huge majority against the board, most Evertonians are realistic we have major problems funding and ground etc.. Changing the board unless they are Billionaires will not make any difference.
Also great phone call on talksport yesterday an Evertonian came on and said all those that criticise Kenwright for being "the best Evertonian", if their better Evertonians ask them to re mortgage their house and invest in Everton. Excellent point. Criticise him for having no money but not the man.

This.

Hate all the anti -Kenwright stuff it's embarrassing. Personally think we would actually be up the creek without him. Yes stadiums have been cocked up but that is purely down to finance, he and none of us have the money to finance it!!

Positives for me over the last ten years and especially this season has been the stability, we have kept the vast majority of our best players and got top dollar for any we have had to sell. Selling club? Look who Arsenal, Spurs and Liverpool have had to sell in this period and they are all considerably richer than us. All players who are happy here often quote the chairman as well as the manager as reasons for signing, offering competitive ( but not stupid ) contracts, but also the culture that is us. This is much better than signing 10 players every year and a lottery of success/ failure. Remember the days when every player of the year was sold? Speed Dunc Hutchison Barmby etc
Also those screaming about lack of investment never compliment the club on keeping ST prices down, compare them to RS Arsenal Spurs etc and be glad we are competitive - how many of these moaners would be willing to pay double what we do??

Also the spending whilst frustrating, will happen. Whilst Stoke Villa Palace Newcastle have acted like meffs with a new credit line at Brighthouse overspending on inflated and inferior products we have kept hold of Mirallas, Stones McCarthy and importantly Garbutt as part of what I agree with Roberto is an excellent generation for the future.
We would all love in theory a billionaire - just remind yourselves Villa Newcastle and Sunderland have billionaire owners, doesn't quite do them any good.
I may be on my own but I appreciate Bill and while we would all love a city situation to happen it's not going to, it's like living your life jealous of the neighbour who won the lottery.

Like they could ever put prices up to near london club levels - given the state of the stadium, the lack of silverware in almost a generation, and being in one of the least affluent regions of the country.

Am I jealous of bill? Not really. I'm baffled as to how he's managed to remain as chairman for so long, though. As for the city situation.......

It was stated by Elstone in one of his blogs.

Just seen MOTD Extra 2 on BBC2.

Absolutely fewwwwwwmin here.

Discussion of the protest - basic gist was what are they protesting for, what do they expect, they spent £30m on Lukaku, what do they want? Bill isnt a billionaire you know! This was all from Charlie Adam (!!!). Like, wtf is he doing as a pundit anyway, commenting on us?

Danny Mills then said finishing 8th or 9th would be a good season for Everton, and basically patronised us and put us in the same bracket as Swansea and Stoke.:rant:

It took all restraint I had not to throw something through the TV screen.

Don't think we did then, wasn't there was a problem obtaining planning permission for Bellfield and it wasn't sold for about 18 months or so after we moved.

The thing is we ARE in the same bracket as those teams now,our only real ambition is to stay in the top flight

The Danny Mills comment was bizarre considering where we normally finish, but then he's a grade A [Poor language removed] so what do you expect. At least Champman pulled them up on it in his usual weak-willed sort of way.

Asset stripped us and not invested a single penny in the club , thats all sound though because hes the biggest evertonian there has ever been
