Erm, I'm in your little group at the end there bud.

I think the club motto is lovely and all, but my word it is an outdated legacy of times when football were football driven. Everything changed in 1992 with the Sky intervention and nothing will ever be the same again. It looks nice on the logo and it's wonderful rhetoric, but it shouldn't drive the business forward - even as an aspirational benchmark.

Nothing but the best would be lovely; but let's be realistic and accept we're trying to compete with businesses turning over MILLIONS and MILLIONS of pounds more than Everton.

*awaits inevitable backlash*

Let's also consider why we're in the current financial position, to be realistically realistic. Realists on this board can give you a timeline of consecutive failures by the EFC board over ten years that have driven us down.

I know Big Bill has something in his locker certain men appreciate, but facts are facts baby, and we can't be overlooking them.

For the last time Moyes does not run the academy or finance it, the academy has its own staff and the club finance it.
You asked this question. "one other thing, what, exactly, have the club achieved OFF the pitch in the last decade to be excited about, blacktoffee, do not help him".
Now that you've painted yourself in a corner don't try and belittle the efforts of the academy staff by claiming it's all down to moyes, when it's not.

Yesterday:

"Selling our best or better players may not be what some people want to do, but I think it may just be the only way to go."

Now it's just Rodwell.

Why is it that Kenwrighters can't maintain a coherent argument or thought process ?

because, like kenwright, they cannot do anything without hiding behind moyes . if he walks, god help kenwright.

Why not stop aiming vitriol at people who don't share your OPINION (and yes, that is all it is) and talk without the hate lacing your posts.

please show me where i stated that moyes runs or finaces the academy, i said it was moyes passion that got it moving, his ideas, his 5 YEAR PLAN, ffs if your going to pull me up, at least get your facts straight. for the last time,
in eleven years the board have sold/leased every asset the club has, except players( for the pedantic)
they have raised our income streams by a negligble percentage in this time.
they have overseen a catalogue of disasters and missed opportunities.
they have lied/misled the supporters.(deal of the century?)

now you can support them if you want, i neither care nor lose sleep over it, but i will keep pointing out the failures, your free to point out the successes, i don't hate, as someone said, i despair , it comes of watching people defend the indefensible, its frustration, because although im not a businessman, i can see the errors being made. the opportunities missed, the omisions not mentioned. if i can, why can't you?

Because we can still win even if we keep Rodwell, but if we want to "reinvest in the squad", like every man and his dog seems to want to do, and which we might actually need to do, then someone like him will have to be offloaded. And in terms of what we've got, that will also include the youngsters in the academy.

Is the academy not something we already possess?

I think its called free will and not being clockwork copies.

We don't sit down and come up with some party line.

Try it with your lot. You might even come up with some sensible suggestions about how to change things rather than the continuing bitching and finding every negative thing you can lay your hands on.

I'm so going to laugh when the Navy Seals take you out Bin Laden style.

Oh wow.

I just think we can win with what we've got, and what we can continue to develop through our academy. It's far cheaper and the results can be far more productive than signing every sod under the sun, which is what everyone seems to want to do. Even if we have to sell someone such as Rodwell, for the greater good of this team, and reinvest that money elsewhere. I'd do that in a heartbeat, not selling Rodwell, but build a team through an academy with a few acquisitions on the cheap that can still contribute.

Although, someone once said "you never win anything with kids."

I agree. That's realism.

You get them younger. You make them better. And you develop them to out perform everyone else.

That's the sport. And that is realistic.

Its called operating to a budget! REALISM.

That will give us the opportunity to put and acquire the funds (via INVESTMENT) for putting into INFRASTRUCTURE

To increase revenue, which will then allow more funds. In the GREAT PERPETUATING CYCLE of success.

That's realism.
