Because you merely have to look at their books and see their turnover relative to wages. The fact they've had no champions league for two years.

And then there's the club licencing rules.

Its not rocket science.
so what your telling me is after this window shuts Liverpool won't sign anymore decent money signings for 3 years , I find that very hard to believe , if your right I would gladly admit to talking ****e but we will wait and see hey , they will find a way to spend don't worry about that , this is a club who are renowned for bending the rules no more so than the champions league rule when we finished 4th yet they went in the following year because they won the thing but going back to the point of topic they have came out smelling of Roses signing players for big transfer fee's , we sold Pienarr for as little as 3 mill and as yet have not seen a penny

Can I ask you an ( honest question) how in the name of god do you know there spending the next 3 years of budget ??????????? Can I answer the question for you there's no way in a million planets you would know , so if Liverpool finish 3rd next season they won't spend any money next summer ????? Could not disagree more TBH

He just *knows*.

No-one need question the one man finance team that broke the scouting fee scandal.

Sold one for £50million, spent that £50million on two players, then have paid less than 50% of the fee upfront for Henderson.

If Downing's bought then its likely that others will be sold too by them. e.g. Meireles

Its not a clear cut as "spending to accumulate" or "coming out smelling of roses" as you're saying either.

Let's put it this way Matt then we'll agree to disagree , me personally would be one happy Evertonian if we were doing the same as the RS in the transfer Market , call it what you want there leaving us well behind , there's only so much Moyesy can do with 60 grand signings from Sligo rovers :-(

By the looks of things, they're selling to buy, since 2009 they've actually made a profit on player deals. Albeit a small one which was dramatically reduced under some jock called Kenny. If they sell Meireles, which is likely, and they bring in Downing/Adam/Clichy (bid of £9m kb'd by the Arse), then the trend continues.

Yet we moan if we sell to buy. Sacrifing a player or two may do us good if we spend wisely.

Most of them were dead weight. Torres and Alonso being the only two key players they've sold that they had to replace and strengthen I think. And they've been big net spenders in the past.

And we've been selling to buy for over a decade.

So, they still got money for them. I don't know how they did it with most but they did.

To be fair, we can't just buy in every player to replace players we have. Otherwise, there'd be no point in having an academy. I'm a big fan of our academy, and always will be as long as it produces - it produces, but that doesn't necessarily mean we keep hold of them, which is our own fault.
