Most of them were dead weight. Torres and Alonso being the only two key players they've sold that they had to replace and strengthen I think. And they've been big net spenders in the past.

And we've been selling to buy for over a decade.

Mascherano aswell, what was that 18-20m?

ah yes. but they spent all that on poulsen, Merieles, konchesky and Cole

Id say, taking wages out of the equation, they didnt spend any more than they received for mascherano. Meireles 11m, cole free, poulsen 4m?, konchesky 5m?

If you take into account the carroll and suarez for torres transfer saga, which they spent net 3m approx, it shows that they are not exactly splashing the cash. Not on the same scale of poverty as us(theres not many that are) but not as affluent as it would appear.

Exactly, since the end of the 80/09 season they've actually made a profit on player sales, quite surprisingly. Even if they're selling deadweight.

Yeah this is correct but what they do a hell of a lot better is , if a player isn't quite fitting in no more or wants a move somewhere they can settle , they move them on quick and get decent fee's and replace them with better , you don't mean to tell me no team in Russia would give Everton 5-6 million for Bilyaletdinov ??? or no top side in Europe would give us 8 million for Johnny Heitinga ????, or 13/14 million cash for Jack Rodwell, I think a club like ours need to improve our starting 11 none of who I named our regulars, nor do I see becoming regulars but we seem to stubborn to admit it hasn't worked out , I would sooner rather see , Charles Nzogbia , John O'Shea and a top striker ( Diego Forlan , Anelka even Bellamy than the 3 who are warming our bench , that's what the red ****e do well business deals , we are amatures

Do you think we could get Bill involved with the money laudering trial of Carson Yeung, surely we could pin something on him from the sale of Macfadden!

You must be joking mate, the fury is unleashed the board has been pasted for signing two young international keepers and Eric Dier in the past two days.

The mod sqaud are considering confiscateing shoe laces and velcro (just to be inclusive like).

There are too many mood hoovers in here. FFS, the board are trying to improve the merchandising side of things, if things go well we should praise them as well as blindly bashing them.

Long may we spend our money on young talent
