We are still a top 7 squad. The problem is that our golden generation is now ageing (Cahill, Arteta). With the prospect (heaven forbid) that MoFro will go on a Bosman in a couple of years it means these players wont be replaceable with funds. Not worrying for the next two seasons perhaps. But 4 years on we could be back to the days of finishing 14-17th.

cahill, arteta, pienar, would call them bargains to name but a few. Relax mate only just returned to training and over half the premier league clubs have yet to sign somebody

There is genuine uproar on a large scale about News Of The World's phone hacking though. And the closure of News International is related more the court case than the uproar. A "Save Everton" group wouldn't have much bearing on Bill in the long run i don't believe, as there is no threat of court action if the very real possibility of relegation in the coming years (if things don't change) comes to fruition. I can't see a sizeable number (and i mean sizeable enough to make a genuine impact and disrupt the day to day activities at the club ) of our fans turning out to actively prevent the club being taken to the cleaners by a board leading the club in entirely the wrong direction.

Since when has anything official been written in football 365.
I guarantee you that article has been written by someone from kipper.
Football 365 that bastion of football facts ?
Yeah sure !!

our team has been built on bargain buys and scouting. out of our current squad, howard, jagielka, baines, arteta, cahill, probably fellaini, beckford, and saha, have all greatly appreciated in value since their original acquisition. theres also pienaar, lescott, etc.

i would say moyes is known for his eye for bargains, so i don't really know what you're on about here

Not strictly true, 12 teams have made signings and most of the ones who haven't signed anyone are the ones who have a wedge to spend and are trying to hang on to valuable players.

Villa (have money from Young and probably Downing, so in excess of £30m to spend)
Arsenal (Gervinho has passed a medical but its not been announced yet, expect Nasri and Fabregas to go plus two or three others. £60m + to spend )
Blackburn (Just sold Phil Jones and have owners with a bit of money to throw around, £20-30m to spend)
Chelsea (Well, its Chelsea.....)
Fulham (In Europe, released a lot of players)
QPR (Rich owners will definitely spend to ensure they stay up)
Stoke (In Europe, close to signing a number of players)

Comparitively speaking, we aren't in great shape.

I've quoted News Int as an example only to show what can be done. I was trying to show some of the threads that could be useful to us. I'll try and summarise;

1. A genuine cause or concern
2. A clear way of resolving that concern that attracts sizeable support and is workable or do able
3. Clear activities (the Everton scarf protest is an example, just shame about the blue bird and negative message)
4. A campaign which is inclusive, seeks to draw in support and is seen as "commonsense"

Without laying out a strategy I can say with confidence that asking for all information on Green is unachievable, even if desirable
Asking someone to sell the club when their is no buyer again is unachievable.

I've said this once, I'll say it again, go beyond the moaning, let's look at uniting fans around clear achievable objectives which draw in those who support the board and those who are opposed to the board.

Marouane Fellaini, record signing, purchased for £15m on last day of transfer window September 2008.

Makes it 2008/09 season. Learn to count and check facts before making up your stories.

Um last 5 transfer windows.

That would be Jan 2011, Summer 2010, Jan 2010, Summer 2009 and Jan 2009.

Yes, clever clogs but january 2009 still falls in the same season as 2008/9.

There are two transfer windows per season.

Try again or you can be a real pedant and assume that one transfer window has no relation to the other, which is so unreal as to be untrue.

Put the shovel down. Last five windows takes you back to summer 2009.

Incredible.

You know where you can shove that shovel. There are two transfer windows in a season.

Some people spend in the first transfer window and then don't spend in the second.

(1) 2010/11
(2) 2010/09
(3) 2009/08

I know you like the dark arts of propaganda but don't try that nonsense with me.

I'm not one of your flunkies.

Let me take you step by step:

transfer windows:

this one summer 11; Jan 11; summer 10; Jan 10; summer 09.

Last five transfer windows.

Your welcome.

Good post lar , the problem is with the last point , there is an awful lot of fans like myself who think there are or certainly would be buyers if the right work is put in to find them , Iam fed up saying my problem with the club is > no company has Been put in place to travel the globe searching for a buyer , I know this costs money but speculate to accumulate , also having a contract like we do with Chang , I'd be suprised if no one from China , Thiland , Singapore , Hong Kong> way have not even enquired about the club considering the premier league has so much exposure in these parts of the world , I believe and no one will change my opinion that he wants too much for the club , considering the stadium which Blue Bill has let rot , no one will pay 125 million which is the amount Keith Harris said on radio city last year because straight away they will need to spend 3-400 million on a new stadium , why cant he come out and say " here's proof Iam an Evertonian and want what's best for our great club , who ever wants the club give me 60 million and it's yours" , but no he wants major profit and won't sell otherwise because I believe in my heart of hearts he's taking money out of the club , it might not be millions but it's definatley keeping him going in life IMO
