Not saying we'll guarantee success by moving, but there's no way we will get back to the top without a new stadium or increasing the size of Goodison. 38,000 seats and more crucially the lack of hospitality is a financial nightmare for investors.

Do you forsee football being the money making machine it is now in 30,40,50 years? If it isn't what good is a stadium with fabulous hospitality?

'It was a decent night Kevin. Nothing new in terms of news from Elstone, nowt we didn't know. Nice seeing Jags & Baines.'

Blue Union talking utter sh*te then. And it will spin out of control and people will be slating Elstone for something he never said.

There's no point in living like that though, is there ?

Everything can change in 50 years, but i don't care about 50 years from now. I care about the present and the immediate future, which will be filled with nothing but top 10 finishes.

But that is EXACTLY what I care about. Scary thought but i'll be 75 in 50 years, I want Everton to be there and not playing in a soulless ground that was build 50 years previous in the football boom period because we only cared about the here and now.

Just a personal thing for me. I know i'm in the minority.

I would be wary of the new stadium = success theory.

City are the only team who have been successful from moving to a new stadium

thats superstition mate!

careful what side of the bed you get out of in the morning!

loads of clubs have done well(also bad) in new grounds just not main stream prem clubs cuz they haven't moved grounds apart from the arse!

One thing Elstone did say as well - any new stadium will be within the Liverpool city boundaries. He said the board got the message on that one. This was after one fan mischievously suggested that if LCC wouldn't play ball, that we should go to Sefton Council for help. Elstone dismissed that one completely.

Erm, ok.

As I said it's just an opinion of mine. It saddens me supporters are more bothered about revenue and hospitality, the game and sadly now the fans are succumbed to the capitalist side of football, its just all about money money money, not about tradition or history anymore.

But maybe you're right, its possibly me not moving with the times, which if that is the case, is why I wouldn't go again if we left Goodison

Everton is more than money.
Good post.

Re-development, I have always said this. Newcastle had less a footprint and rebuilt St.James'. Man Utd, ok have a bigger foot print, redevloped Old Trafford and are the most successful side in this country.

I do no believe for once second it cannot be done to Goodison, not matter what Elstone says. It won't happen I kno, so in 5-10years I won't be a season ticket holder no more.

cant wait for my next restricted view seat! but atleast there cheap!

Fozzy, I don't understand the condescending replies from you mate, i'm merely expressing an opinion, I've admitted i'll probably be in the minority, but it's how I feel.

Thought you may have been able to have a decent conversation/debate without having to resort to that, but there you go
