Kenwright is a tit, isn't he ?
I think at first he had good intentions, but he surrounded himself with utter pond life and the result isnt pretty.

Chatter this morning on the forums that the takeover topic is back on the table.
It is January of course and who knows if the gravy train express will stop at L4 to pick up a couple of fellas.
Hope it,s not that fella in a one bedroom flat who has changed address on Bill.
As it is during every transfer window when we have no cash to spend, or every time season ticket sales are up for renewal.
If I was really stupid I might not have noticed this before (not saying you are by the way!).
Wonder who the club pay to spread this muck? Whoever it is must have a strong stomach as the stench is really rotten.

Serious question - can you explain why the board would want to spread those rumours? After 11 years there is a large number of fans fed up with not having a new owner/investors. Another false dawn would only increase that.
Equally with the club doing half decent on the pitch why would the board want to cause agitation over whether old Bill will sell or not? Why not just try and focus on positive PR?
Are you seriously asking me that question?
Yes.
Your suggestion just does not make sense to me. Creating the idea of alternative owners surely only increases pressure on Bill et al to deliver? How can that be positive for the present board?
You are also contradicting yourself.
In your second sentence you say the board wants to create false rumours to "deflect from the fact they are not backing the manager". Deflect attention from who if not the fans? yet further on your say they don't care about the opinions of fans.
There you have it Dell Boy, in a nut shell. The official bi-annual Everton pantomime.
Look I'm not taking the piss here but I dont get that logic. The core criticism of the board is that they cannot sell up and find a better investor. On that basis the more false dawns the worse it will get. Whether from the fans or the media - it will increase the focus on why Bill cannot get a buyer. Clearly I'm in a minority on here so I'll leave it at that.
For the benefit of you only obviously not having been around for the last 5 years this is how it usually plays out.
1. Apparent interest from a 3rd party around the time of transfer windows or season ticket renewals.
2. Never materialises.
3. Bill wheels out another one of his repetitive luvvy speeches about how there was interest but it never materialised when he asked them to show him the briefcase.
4. Bill is seen as the hero and saviour by less savvy Everton fans who don't realise that this is a never ending cycle.
5. Bill gains more credibility for not selling out to those pesky foreigners who were not genuine and only in it for a quick buck.
6. Bill and the rest of the board continue to invest NOTHING into Everton football club until they get an offer that is way too good to refuse, and Mr Earl can go back to doing whatever it was that he was doing prior to doing nothing with Everton Football Club Ltd apart from holding a large percentile of the shares.
Deflect attention from who if not the fans? yet further on your say they don't care about the opinions of fans. - The media, who still think Bill is doing all he can to deliver the right investor into Everton Football Club - Not simply holding out for a big profit for himself and his mates on the board.

They don't have to be foreign to be corrupt. Regardless, if whomever you consider the best owner in all of sports is a 10/10 and a 0/10 is a corrupt owner who bankrupts the club and gets them relegated ... what score do you give BK?I don't think we're a 2/10 though. I wouldnt want to roll the dice and end up with some corrupt foreign owner no.
I agree with this aside from the fact that two of your "on the field" things are really "off the field" things. The club is:
Off the field: Biggest debt in the club's history. Making a loss every year. Doesn't own it's own training ground. In a stadium the board itself says is outdated.
On the field: Being out spent by 16 other english clubs. Enduring the joint longest trophy droubt in our proud history. Selling a player every year.
So if you were doing PR for Everton and BK said "look, I love Everton and I don't want to sell the team because I'm selfish ... how do we stop the fans from protesting too much" your suggestion would be to never have any takeover rumours or in any way say you are trying to sell the team?Look I'm not taking the piss here but I dont get that logic. It's funny you are choosing to criticize the handling of this -- the fact "they clapped" might make the "BK spin" the most efficient and effective job the current regime have ever done on anything. If I were looking to defend BK's smarts the fact he has spun a healthy percentage of the fan-base into basically supporting him is the most impressive thing he's ever done.
brilliantSerious question, did you even support Everton in 94?
