Everton Shareholders Association have voted almost unanimously to request a General Meeting with the Everton Board, and they haven't even finished balloting all their members yet. The 75% target has already been achieved.

EGM Petition Update

The result of the Shareholders’ Association Petition for the Everton Football Club Company to call a General Meeting will soon be known.

To date a huge majority of those shareholders who have cast their vote are in support of the petition with more 75% of the necessary shareholding support having already been achieved. However, we have been notified by some Shareholders, including those based overseas, of their intent to vote but expressing concern that they may miss a deadline.

Additionally some returns have not yet reached us through our pre-paid postal reply service despite shareholders assuring us of posting. This latter point is cause for concern especially as the Royal Mail has invoiced us for more deliveries than we have received. Clearly there is a problem here and the Royal Mail is being very helpful and has initiated an internal investigation to isolate and correct the problem.

The Association is keen to ensure that the voice of all Shareholders be heard on this important matter, especially after review of the recently published accounts, and so we have decided to continue to accept returns for the time being. The final count will take place when we are confident that all those shareholders who wanted to vote have done so.

If shareholders are concerned that their vote may not have been counted we would be delighted to hear from them and suggest they contact the Secretary or Chairman of the Association at hon.secretary@efcsa.org or chair@efcsa.org

The interview above was recorded on Saturday, it's 40 minutes but we cover a lot of ground. Thoughts and opinions welcome...

Interesting interview, although where Simon says that the BU were setup to create a bridge between the fans and the club, I I think that is either incorrect or the BU truly lost their way and very quickly.
As far as I can tell they were set up as a direct competition to the board as when they were given the chance to bridge the gap they simply burned the bridge down instead.
That's not how you close a divide, that's how you make one bigger.

Good lad as well, pity about injuries took Hull to the cleaners Billic style, with his 50k a week and playing about 10 games - that has to be respected!

I also like to imagine he took a leak in Nicky Barmbys kit bag.

haha, Bullard is a total tit. He's in no way 'a good lad', he's an arrogant moron.

His diet while at Hull was beak & lager. He sank 6 pints of Beater the night before a crucial relegation battle & predictably stank the place out the next day.

Spot on that, which is why they now have no worth as an organisation imo, as their first meaningful action destroyed any chance that their stated aim could ever be delivered.

Easy to critisise the BU for going to print from their interview with the meglomaniac that is William Kenwright, but in fairness to them, what he came out in that interview was totally shocking and needed telling.

The fact that a lot of Evertonians took the hump because their phoney leader had been outed for what he was, for me tells a greater picture of them than anything the BU interviewers uncovered.

Without getting into an argument, can you just summarise what was said that led you to the conclusions I have put in bold above?

What has BU got to do with the shareholders majority vote to call an EGM?

Nothing I can see except to sidetrack the shareholders news.

Not going to argue mate, but rather than me have to explain it to you go back and read the article, it's there for all to see in clear print.

I will and I've just found a copy of the transcript. I've not time to read it again in full now but I will do for sure. I'm just asking that you've clearly got a dead set opinion on it so would be handy to have a heads up that's all. When I read it the first time I don't remember any "smoking guns" that's all. I got out of it that Kenwright was a bit amateurish but ultimately well-intentioned.

Very amateurish, a massive ego maniac who thinks he is the best salesman to sell the club yet the only thing he has turned up in 10 years of trying is 2 nutters in a rented flat in Manchester.

Nobody will lend us money ( money borrowed off Vibrac shortly afterwards), embarassing documents being sent to the bank to tell them how great Everton are and not to "kill us".

The man came across as an idiot, completely out of his depth and a bit of a Walter Mitty style personality.

Have a read again and let me know when you see what I am referring to ;)
