Thing is though. Look at all the money previous managers have spunked up the wall. Think im with him with regards to holding back some funds.

This. Really.

Hes syetemically destroyed Villa lads, he hasnt spent any money hes borrowed to the hilt, went from 0 debt on takeover to over 130mill, wages to turnover ratio was almost at 100% - prob the worst owner in the league. All that glitters.

Remember were you heard it first (three years ago), people who still think hes the the donkeys amaze me in fact it frightens me, which is why i take very few opinions in this thread seriously.

And people talk about happy clappers.

No ones sticking up for his model, but they're sticking up for his ideal of backing the manager by means. He's still a better business man that Kenwright.

They got champions league under O'Neil, they would be in a completely different position to now. It was a gamble that didn't pay off.

Lerner hasn't borrowed money - Villa's debt is owed back to him.

His biggest flaw has been his inability to appoint a decent manager. O'Neill isn't terrible but always wants more money to spend, Houllier and McLeish were just awful, and while Lambert did a very good job at Norwich he's been horrendous since taking over at Villa.

I don't think Lerner is perfect by any means, but it was Lambert who alienated many of the senior players, failed to move them on and then spent £22m on inadequate replacements. The reluctance to spend £7m more on Bent probably has something to do with the fact he isn't first choice anyway.

Again, Lerner isn't all that's wonderful, but he's hardly an example of why Kenwright - who has done literally nothing for Everton - is all right.

I don't have the 'kill it with fire' approach to the board that a lot of people seem to have, but I do think it's time for change. Kenwright has good sides; he's shown patience with Moyes during bad spells, and for better or worse I'm certain that he has the club's best interests at heart. He's just too poor to be the majority shareholder of a premier league club, and with the ageing stadium and poor corporate facilities the future's looking bleak.

Disagree with both, the debt belongs to Aston Villa owed to his companies at which he charges Villa 12mill a season in interest to service the debt. Im not defending our board here. Im just giving you an example of why hes a poor owner when some in this thread have and continue to laud him, hes destroying that club and you cant even see it, which is disturbing.

I dont think he gives a rats about Villa tbh, he has invested nothing - he has racked up debts to himself and charged interest on it annually and sold more then anything he has ever spent and still people think hes ace - i worry i really do.

Anyway im annoyed about Fer so went get into this, right call but still gutting.

Lauding the fact he's got cash from somewhere and backed his manager. That all.

The way I see it there's two options - we have £45million worth of debt and hit a glass ceiling. Or have £100million worth of debt and champions league football.

Villa went the later and it didnt work out.

Another triumph by the board

Funny thing is I know you're taking the p*ss but what you have posted there is actually correct.

It sometimes seems on here that most fans don't have an ounce of business sense.

Rightly or wrongly cash at Everton is a very precious animal (let's not get into that particular debate just now please).

Moyes identifies a player and the club get a nice deal agreed. The medical then shows up a potential problem. Not only would this cause concern to Moyes but you can be sure it would arouse the interest of the clubs insurance company.

We hold firm and draw a line in the sand. The deal has changed. Everton have a reasonable record recently in not wasting millions on crocs. We also picked the likes of Lescott where we made the right call.

The club was then prepared to pull the deal and face the music from hysterical fans to persevere with the right business decision.

Well done.

And do you know what - there are always plenty more fish in the sea.
