TBF you don't connections to know Bill's either asking for too much money or isn't even trying to sell the club at all. The facts are there for all to see.

No that's not correct. There are no "facts" to be seen but don't let that stop you.

I don't believe there's been a serious party to make an offer for the club.

The facts we've not heard a peep of such a bid in 10 years tells me all I need to know.

If someone had rocked up to Bill and said here's £50m (or whatever) and he told them to clear off - what's to have stopped that leaking to the press? Nothing. Confidentiality contracts only cover information that was privvy to one party. The fact that say a US investor had bid £50m is not going to be covered by any NDA.

Kenwright had no competition to buy the club back in the day. When he took over he said he didn't have millions.

The Board and Kenwright have made plenty of mistakes but I can't stand this idea of making up crap about him.

Its playground bullying of thelowest order. All the cool kids want to act tough and have a pop at him 'cos they're pissed off at what's happening on the pitch and deep down are never going to like a theatre luvvie owning the club.

Stick to the facts. Kenwright's corporate governence in respect of shareholder meetings is a disgrace. The lack of transparency is far from ideal. The Jan transfer window was a joke (I blame all in power for that). The Moyes contract situation is a joke. Kings Dock was a missed opportunity. The whole commercial side is hardly performing - no matter how difficult it is with Goodison and our lack of a brand.

But don't make up crap like "Kenwright's dodgy dealing under the counter" and "he's asking £200m+ and keeps turning away top potential buyers".

In the absence of any buyers in the wings we as fans have to try and be constructive. When the Blue Union marched in protest I was with my dad at Goodison. He's been going the match for 55 years. His comment was that that crowd over the park do the banners and the protest. He'd always hoped we had more about us.

Just stick to the facts.

Thats fair enough...doing that is a great thing for him to do and I respect him for it...but his utterances about football and Everton in particular don't appear to be very well thought out. Its just an opinion...just as it is my opinion about his goalkeeping capabilities. He is a football hero and that will never change, but I wish he would think before he spoke. 'It would do Everton good to get relegated' Really ?

It didnt do Newcastle any harm in hindsight. That club is transformed from the one that used to pay fortunes for the likes of Kluivert, Viduka and Owen. I'll take Nev's opinion all day long ahead of anything you come out with.

So, in your OPINION, because of your AGENDA, saying that Neville Southall was the worlds greatest goalkeeper for at least three years is smearing his name. I am not alone in thinking that Nev has not had the greatest success since he retired from the game..see other post above, and numerous other examples. That is an OPINION, shared by others, it is NOT smearing. Got it ?

I don't always agree with you mate although i think i mostly do & I do generally think your posts are well informed (particularly in respect to finance ) and I also don't see you as a 'kenwright defender ' for want of a better phrase. On Neville I think he's different , he's always been well lie i say different and certainly a lot of what he's said over the years I havent agreed with . I do think though right or wrong (I believe it's right personally ) there is a school of thought within football particularly those close to the club that unless the financial situation is looked at and re-evaluated then sale will remain as far in the future as it is today.

Further to Dell Boys post above about the supposed asking price...I don't think anyone knows the asking price, because this is a constant variable depending on lots of factors...the state of the debt for one thing. The Usual Suspects have taken a quote(opinion?) from the broker Harris(the same guy that the FA would not let buy Portsmouth...) but there is no way to prove that Harris was anywhere near the mark. Personally I think that Bill is in a very difficult position , of his own making. I suspect he would like to sell but the others he has brought on board won't sell without (big) profit. Theres more but have to deal with an urgent work matter...will continue this later....

This ^^^^ is absolutely what I've heard on a number of occasions so I couldn't agree more with it

So the guy who Bill himself has said he speaks to 'every day' with regard to him brokering a deal to sell the club has no idea of the ball park asking price figure? Get real.

And you are questioning his credibility! Who do you think has got him involved with selling Everton for christs sake!!

No this is the one I just cannot buy.

Every business has a true value market price - assets, debts, future earnings etc.

If that value is say £100m then these shadey businessmen in the corner are not going to turn down £95m because theyrholding out for £300m. Thatnot the way smart (shadey or otherwise) businessmen operate. Its all about the potential return on capital.

Well it worked for them and they've now got owners willing to invest and take the club forward with redevelopment plans for the stadium. But hey ho, we can just sit here and drown in apathy instead because it's not cool to protest.

With regards to the sale of the club, was it not categorically stated during the Kirkby debacle by our own CEO that Everton aren't for sale?
