The Everton Board Thread

Kenwright, when that lying, penniless buffoon took us over, that was the beginning of the end for me.
Fans still call him but David Moyes kept the Wolves at bay for over a decade, his astuteness at finding bargain basement players, bankrolled by his sales for profit kept us falsely ahead of the game for ages. The only problem was David Moyes performing miracles on a shoestring, kept Kenwright as Chairman, seriously a kopite couldn't have slowly, agonisingly killed us better then Kenwright is doing now.
Absolutely 100% this

The pot calls the kettle black. One chancer is out to get the others to protect their rep
The guy literally resigned from a cushy board job getting paid far more than he will be now in protest at the way the club is run and yet clowns like you will still try hammer him.

And you wonder why the board has been able to get away with this for so long. Useful idiots.

Like with others, Brands isn't without some blame, but the common denominator during our decline is the owner, Bill and the ineptitude of the board to run the club.

People may moan about him signing a deal, professional pride and whatnot, but would others do differently? The prime failings came from board interference.

If you're going to employ a DoF, they need to be trusted to fulfil the remit in which you appointed them, which is make decisions. Instead, those above meddled.

Personally, the comments from Brands only help evidence and cement the belief that this once great club's owners have been negligent in their duty.

Benítez wanted Salomon Rondon, which I could not approve. He was already in his 30s, was not on the scouting list, he was not going to bring Everton anything more. Far too high a salary too. I said I thought it was a bad idea. Think of it as a present for the coach, the owner said. Then you are powerless." And people wonder how we are in this mess

Crazy how he only 'resigned' once benitez pushed him out. Are you purposefully this dense?

Exactly. I find it difficult to overly criticise Brands when the evidence suggests that those above him regularly interfered in what should have been his remit.

What's the point in having a plan, which includes a manager/type of manager, specific player profiles and youth, when the owner and his cronies undermine it?

How can you plan how to use your budget? How can you look long-term when the squad is saddled with expensive and ageing flops rather than youth?

I still think Carlo's appointment was a good one, but even then the signings went totally against what Brands envisaged, so why have him in the first place?

Like I said, he isn't blameless although the way I see it is he had one hand tied behind his back; likewise, Thelwell is shackled by previous failings.

Some fans need to give their head's a serious wobble if they genuinely believes Brands is the problem.

Yeah really shocking that a DoF should resign after going from Carlo to Benitez and going from signing decent players to having them run out of the club by a manager he didn’t want.

But sure… should have resigned when we had the best manager in the world in charge and things were going well. Genuinely can’t believe he waited until after that.
