The Everton Board Thread

Kopites love him, you must know why, he guarantees no trophies and regular relegation battles, he guarantees our club is ran badly and one day we will all probably pay by being relegated. What is it 28 years without a trophy ? If I was a Liverpool fan, especially a journalist I would be extolling his virtues and shaking his hand and making a case for him to stay even longer.
Oh and he's actually a Liverpool fan

It will come soon enough this summer. The season has just ended!
I'm sure yeah, just chortling at those who thought the resignation letter were being slapped in five minutes after the final whistle. I'm sure MSP will be finalising investment deal soon and the crooks currently in place will receive a very healthy severance package to leave the club.

If there are to be changes, then we're looking at a completely new board surely?

Kenwright and DBB out, to be replaced by Moshiri appointees.

Two MSP appointees.

That leaves Sharp and Ingles whose positions must also be untenable.

I'm not in favour of jobs for their own sake, but we need six or seven directors, not four.

There is a desperate need for someone with commercial expertise on the board, as well as finance.

We need heavy-hitters in there, industry leaders, people with clout and experience.

There seems to be no clue at all as to who would come in as Chairman / CEO.
Mark Carney ex Bank of England Governor is an Evertonian I believe.
Sir Terry Leahy ex head of Tesco is too.
Andy Burnham.
The season ticket holder who has just organised the latest loan.(name escapes me).
There are plenty of big hitters if Someone ie Moshiri, actually bothered to look.
We could have a great board if we wanted.

We will have to see.
Moshiri inherited a board, and has allowed Kenwright to manage it.

With the exception of Sacha Ryazantsev, he hasn't appointed a director in seven years.

That's quite extraordinary for someone with full ownership of the club. Unbelievable.

To make credible appointments, Moshiri will have to take advice and once again, you question the calibre of people in his inner circle.

With the stadium funding, I wonder if Andy Bell would be a candidate for a part-time consultative role, or someone from within his business.

We need people to challenge the executive team to reach objectives, and challenge non-delivery.

Board meetings should not resemble lunch at the golf club. That's why we are where we are.

Understand the point mate but being an Evertonian isn't a priority to be on the board.

Nor is it a guarantee they'd want the job.

I'm an Evertonian and I wouldn't work for the club.

Ian Wright knows he was used as a patsy a few months back, for which he apologised for.

We are seeing that anger continue.

Annoys me no end how quiet our former players are. Very few of them pipe up - wonder why...
Because Danny, put simply, to do so would alienate them from the 'club' - not the fans, not the real entity that is the club, but the monstrosity behind the scenes.

Look at the likes of Southall, who isn't allowed at Goodison because of his views. He's an easy example, but there are others who we know aren't welcome.

Alternatively, there have been players who've been happy to toe the line due to the benefits it brought them in terms of cushy, paid positions and hospitality.

However, after Sharp, I suspect there'll be less of those who put their name forward, so hopefully the board will become more isolated in their position.

In terms of your comment about being an Evertonian not being a prerequisite on the board, I totally agree. I want the right person, with the right skills, doing it.

Nepotism and whatnot, where loyalties can become manipulated, isn't what we need.
