The Everton Board Thread

At least they’ve run businesses (successfully I’d imagine if they’ve been noticed).

Bill runs pantos and love-ins with his showbiz mates.

And all the best to them if they do come on board. But let me kindly ask you a question mate - would George Downing be considered for a role on the board if he was a Chelsea fan from Plymouth ? Does his CV/experience/credentials stand out above all others internationally / in the football world ? The answer is probably no.

For too long our fanbase has been won over by any appointment so long as they're a Blue and/or have some kind of club/local connection.

Kenwright kept his role as chairman for decades solely on being "a blue" and even going back as far as the KEIOC days - how many evertonians were flouting the idea of Terry Leahy on the board as he was a local blue businessman ?

Its ingrained in our DNA and its held us back for too long yet if you dare question it the hounds of doom / the club bots want their pound of flesh.

Valid point. I’m hoping that they will have others to advise them on the football side. But the last bunch had zero business acumen and have basically steered the club towards a financial iceberg at full speed!

*coughs*

The new lot (whomever they are): dont give them an ounce of credibility. They have to earn that.

Just because - apparently - one's a blue who earned a few quid means absolutely f.a. to me.

They start off needing to prove themselves. No more fawning over so and so "getting us" and they've "got this". They run this club professionally or they should suffer the same fate as the scumbags about to depart with their tails between their legs.
