He's done immeasurable damage to his reputation and legacy

It could be repaired in time, but for the foreseeable he will be persona-non-grata at the club that made him famous

I don't know what made him think he could have ridden this one out. Sure, maybe he'd be out in the cold in the short term as part of Kenwright's revenge, but once new owners were in place he could have easily worked his way back in and would have retained the respect and appreciation of the fanbase

It's quite a tragic tale in all honesty

The damage was done, with his “ one man and his dog ” comment.

He was never coming back from that and showed his true colours.

Sharp: a miserable get who was part of a clique at Everton who wouldn't pull their finger out to work with new comers after Kendall left. He was part of the initial problem as to why we dropped off in standards and allowed Liverpool to emerge again. Never forget that much alongside the plaudits he deserves for his part in the 80s glory period.

That feller would have sat there for years to come arrogantly dismissive of any Everton fan wanting real 'good times', just as long as he was getting well boxed off financially for it.

There's no way back for Sharp. None whatsoever...and neither should there be.

Mentioned this in another thread - remember Trevor Birch jibbing is after a week?

That was a huge alarm bell that wasn’t heeded. He knew his stuff and got out ASAP.
Yeah he was off like a scalded dog very quickly. I suppose there was an NDA or whatnot in place. Also I think a lot of old school football people don’t like to speak badly of Everton. You’d imagine there must be some horror stories given the utterly bizarre stuff about how incompetently we are run that actually makes it into the media!
