Yup, you don’t sound like an pretentious bell. (Think I may be getting it).

Is the use of the word ‘Yup’ to indicate what you claim, a specific feature of the English language? Does it have a name for when it is used in that way? I assume it must as you say it ‘almost always’ indicates what you claim.

And by the responses you have had to it, no one else knows about it either.
Another good one is " Apparently" as the first word. I am not trying to be smart. It is just that some people like to reveal they know something when they don't (like most of us). I did it earlier with the use of "sources" indicate that.....etc.
It wastes time and irritates. Oh dear which of us is perfect?

Utterly deceived. The picture of the dodgy Raul Sanlehi kindly provided to us yesterday by The gooner @goonerfanzine must have been taken 15 years ago compared with the Red Echo picture. He has aged.
