Anyone want to have a go at interpreting this?

No players were sold on 30th June, the last day of the financial year. Its a sign our books have improved compared to last few years. Doesn't mean it'll be any easier to strengthen the squad (presumably because there's no cash available) but it's a positive sign. Still lots of challenges ahead and of course still need Moshiri and Kenwright to 'koff.

Serious 'Have a look at what you could have won ' vibes here
😂

It’s like we intentionally went out to find someone more hopeless than Morishi.

Maybe that’s the plan? “Project Fear”, “Be careful what you wish for”… Sounds right up Bills street and track record of theatrics with one eye on a comeback more dramatic than that turd who frequented Number 10 could ever imagine.

The guys from MSP look like a few fellas who frequent a boozer in Bolton but have taken some cash for six months work as method actors at Bill behest.

Why you always having a pop at those who question the Esk Reliability factor?

Just curious really.

Bit of a fan are we?
I think because he continuously gets battered for his Mata and Witsrl claims. Ok it didn't turn out but how many on here have made similar claims but turned out wrong. Tbh, everything he has said about Moshiri's investment has been true. He said he would go it alone and he has been proved right on that until now with MSP. I just feel the man is continuously battered with a stick by the same people for providing information he has heard. Sometimes rumours are true, sometimes not. The lad deserves a break tbh

Its because he portrays that he knows anything about the inner workings of the club vs he is really good with finance. He knew about the Koeman thing because he knew someone who was working as an intermediary to get him to come on board. Thats it. "You cant rush these things, even tho everything has been agreed the Pogba transfer is holding everything up". He knows sweet FA when it comes to anything outside the financial part. Even then he said we couldn't spend a dime last window yet brought in 6 players.

He definitely gets an undue amount of stick.

The Mata/Witsel thing was shared in good faith from somebody he trusted and it just didn't happen. I know of one transfer during Moyes reign that was 99% done (some Italian, I forget who) and it collapsed for no apparent reason, it happens. Look at Danjuma for a recent example. Deals collapse all the time.

It's no surprise that the 'ITK' is an endangered species, it's not worth the aggro. Despite clubs being much less leaky than 10 years ago, stuff still gets out. Moshiri for example was telling anybody in earshot at the FA Cup semi that he "Really liked Koeman" (a friend of mine was sitting directly behind him) so that snippet went straight to the bookies the day RM got the bullet.

As for his financial analysis, it's based on information out in the public domain and assumptions that are reasonable to make. He warned of overspend a long time ago but then Moshiri kept throwing money into his Everton fire pit so many people said he was clearly wrong. He wasn't. We've spent a fortune, are in debt and still have a stadium to pay for. (And a league charge for an unspecified breach of the spending rules)

This forum lost an asset when he decided to stop being a regular contributor. (I don't agree with everything he says and once he takes a position on something he'd rather die on that hill than back down. That's fine. It's better than blowing with the prevailing wind.)

With regards to Mata and Witsel though, there’s no evidence that we ever even had a bid accepted let alone were close to getting them done. That was a very weird summer, the players we were linked with had us believing we were gonna be the next City and then we waited til mid-August to sign Bolasie and Ashley Williams, then signed Enner Valencia on loan on deadline day. In hindsight that should’ve been the forewarning that Moshiri’s tenure was going to be a basket case.

Yeah, but we've signed players completely out of the blue before (or with very little warning).

Mirallas came in very quickly. I remember when we signed Bilyaletdinov the daily mail ran a story the day before saying we'd done a deal the for the other winger from his team, so clearly they had a source saying we'd signed a player from x who played on the wing. Point is, just because it didn't make the press doesn't mean it wasn't close.

As for the final bit, it's not gone great, has it? lol (n)

What a club.
