The Everton Board Thread

I'm not against a takeover and I'm hardly a big Moshiri fan, but something smelt fishy about that consortium from the beginning to me

Kenyon had been out of football for years too

I know things are so desperate right now that we'll snatch at anything that might spell some positive change, but I don't think this was the right set of owners

Just because Moshiri is cack doesn't mean we couldn't replace him with someone even cacker

Never believed that American consortium had the dough or expertise to take over the club so it's a good thing they didn't . But we are also never ever properly moving forward until this board and the owner are gone
100% agree, the Kenyon consortium had concerns for me, I may have mentioned them once or twice on here and Twitter!

Hopefully a couple of the other groups will come in with serious backing and intent, I can only assume FM was aware of some interest outside of the exclusivity deal. Some will say "you cant do that" but it goes on, the same way you cant approach players without going through the club but it happens all too often all the time.

If there is any serious and credible interest, we'll only know about it when confirmation is imminent.

Moshiri will either have to accept a couple of hundred million in losses and/or seek to retain a minority interest, if we are to be sold.

There will be no white knight coming in to buy the club on an inflated valuation, fund the stadium, and fund existing debts and losses over the next few years. The stadium can be debt financed of course.

Unless it's a state takeover, that is. Even then, I very much doubt they would be happy to compensate Moshiri 100% of his profligacy and bad judgement.

I think we'll be sold, but it probably won't be generating the level of excitement and anticipation that it might have under better circumstances.

The best we can hope for is likely a consortium made up of several individuals or institutional investors that have enough of a deep pocket collectively to afford the asking price + commitments and we avoid a leveraged buy-out.

If we get that + buyers with a track record that demonstrates competency and return on investment, then I'd take that all day.

Then there will be an internet melt down around human rights etc.. Jesus look what the new sponsorship did.

We really need a hybrid model. One who just loves all sports and just gets it. The second part is a sensible business head, who's head won't get turned my champagne and Rolex watches.

All I say is TF Kenyon thing collapsed really can't stand the sniddy barsteward and unfortunately had the unpleasant experience of his company when he was at Chelsea.. I'll say no more.

It's all corrupt. Someone who "just loves sports" will have gotten their cash via some unethical route.

There are almost no boundaries now in the PL to investment.

It’s been stated that Moshiri wants a investor. Now the Peter Kenyon group might have wanted to buy us out right, and it’s only good business for farhad to listen to what they was offering, to see if he can get a better deal. I do personally feel like someone eles has come forward with either a better offer to buy the club, or want to invest with the intent to buy the rest of the club once the stadium is built. It’s my guess anyway. As many of said it could of been a ploy to get potential investors to come forward.

Is there any point? Uefa have well and truly pulled the ladder up with ffp, so unless you are state owned and can have dodgy sponsorship deals, you are just treading water with no way to spend cash.

My whole argument with ffp is how has it made football better or clubs more stable? It hasn't. In our situation, you are either forced to sell off your assets or deducted points until you are relegated. At which point you are probably on the brink of going under.
