The Everton Board Thread

I agree Liverpool fans do seem to unite more behind issues at the club but they have a huge advantage in that their friends in the media always come down on the side of the supporters against the greedy owners.
On the other hand our supporters are portrayed as living in the past with unrealistic expectations of the club.
We are accused of employing bully boy tactics against everybody's favourite uncle a man who loves the club and is always on hand with a tear in his eye.
This owner and his board of lackeys will take us down and no shiny new ground will make any difference as we languish in the lower divisions. The club as a whole has taken its eye off the ball with the ground move .
We are now in the last chance saloon as far as saving our status as a club is concerned, we must put aside our differences and back all forms of protest and where we can work together with ideas to rid ourselves of the people running the club.

I alluded to it in a previous post where I said Kenwright had pulled a blinder. He really has, hasn’t he?

Just a side note before I tangent off. It doesn’t matter what Supporters Group for Liverpool they make sure their message is clear and concise. I heard about the Arsenal stay behind off Sky, there’s no rhythm, it’s just a small group at the moment doing more worse then good, sadly.

Kenwright joined and we were one of the best teams in the land. Not saying he’s left of the Johnson problem, but he’s rose up when he’s been the villain and portrayed himself as the “Working Class” blue.

He’s had the media eating out of his hand with stories of the Boys Pen, remortgaging his house and crying about selling “Our Wayne”.

He’s used this to run narratives wherever he can to suit his agenda such as Kirkby, and so on, all whilst replacing us as a power of English football into becoming “Little Old Everton”, “The Peoples club”, and effectively the basket case club, of the so called “Bigger” English sides.

Countless takeovers came and went, including a rumoured Sheikh Mansour, which would have now had us as one of the best in the land. The refusal to let go of his ownership to give more shares to Gregg for Kings Dock, would have had us 25 years ahead, in a ground in the City Centre.

Finally Moshiri comes in, keeps him around and sold. Somehow, despite the millions invested, Kenwright controlled appointments with DBB, Sharp appointed to the board. Who’s shocked? Not me.

Looks like the final straw may well be mission accomplished by Blue Bill. 35 years. 1 Trophy. 1 4th place finishes. Some “good times” and finally… the final 23 games of Goodison played out in the second Tier.

Yet people will still clap him.

There will be no pressure on the board because they control the narrative via the media.

Our fanbase needs to be united against our board especially Kenwright who has been a long time director who is DIRECTLY responsible for decisions for over 3 decades which have harmed and destroyed our club.

Moshiri needs to bin this board and Lampard because they don't earn their massive wages.

We want players out who don't live up to our expectations so why don't board members get a free pass.

I doubt it. The man is as delusional as he is stupid. He'll never leave unless he's forced out either by the fans/owner or by his own health. Until then he'll continue to live in his little fantasy world as mister chairman. Even If we got relegated he'd just plan to oversee promotion purely so he could take all the credit for it. When/if Moshiri goes we'll see loads of stories "leaked out" to the press slaughtering him and implying that Kenwright did his best to curb the worst of the problems but was ultimately powerless to stop them. Kenwright is poison. Utter poison.
I agree with your summary and believe our current plight is made worse by the fact that BK failed to do due diligence on Moshiri's plans for the club when he sold to him. It appears that he was so relieved to find somebody who would allow him to remain in situ whilst benefiting substantially that he could not wait to sell.
Moshiri it appears had an inflated ego, believing he knew about football but failed to put in place any representative on the Board to protect his interests. It seems ridiculous that he would invest so much money and leave in place a Chairman who had presided over at least 12 years of decline with no apparent plan in place other than 'living from hand to mouth.' As a result, aided and abetted by Mosh's failings our decline has continued.

It is Kenwright who bears the major responsibility for our plight, his track record shows he is unable to provide the leadership required to improve matters and should in my view, apologise to the supprters and stand down. This is wishful thinking as it. sadly, will not happen.

Moshiri should have done this as soon as he was appointed.

Something stunk when Kenwright hung around, it got worse when DBB, Sharp and then finally the invisible man “Prenno” were given cushy roles too.

It’s not a Friday night pint with your mates. It’s a professional football club, and we have zero clue what we’re doing in regards to running one.

You dismiss my concerns about relegation as exaggeration and seem to assume that by going down we start with a clean slate .
What happens to the players currently here on massive wages and long contracts do they just up and Leave?
If we go down our tv income drops to 55% in year one , 45% in year two and finally down to 20% in year three .
Added to the cost of building a new ground I don't see us having much budget to get promotion .
You are happy to gamble the whole future of the club on the assumption that we can bounce back within 3 years?

We have massively cut the number of high earners at the club, mina will be another +100k player off the books soon. All clubs that get relegated face the exact same challenges, I'm not saying it is easy, quick or painless - but it is also not the end of the world.

If we sell Pickford/Gordon for instance you could use that alongside the parachute payments to phase out any huge contracts. Of course if the club are reckless and gamble on success in year 1 then there might be an issue but if we are sensible about it we could level off and then our income potential takes us above the other clubs in that division - just like we can't hope to compete against the the top teams in this league.
