The Everton Board Thread

Part of Everton died today. Genuinely, there's no coming back for the board after this.

We support a football club, who are clear second best in their own city (hurts I know). God knows how we maintain our support and numbers, probably through passion and damn right spite for the RS.

The club have offered absolutely nothing for Evertonians for two generations, the third generation is about to see their club relegated.
Why, why would anyone support Everton if you're growing up round here, truthfully though?

The board picking a fight with these very same fans, the fans who literally are this club. Everton are absolutely nothing without this fanbase. Nothing.
Absolute horrors.

Don't even know what I'm trying to say here but yea.
It's the last act of a desperate man
They the board have reached rock bottom and I don't think they can comeback from this
The fanbase kept this club up last season without a shadow of a doubt

You've been posting this every 2 days since about 2007, are you satisfied now that it's actually finally happening? You've probably done more harm to Everton than Johnson did with your doomsday propaganda, never mind Kenwright or Moshiri.

So @davek correctly predicts the inevitable decline of our club and he's at fault more than the owners? Jesus wept. Worst take I've ever seen on this forum.

Ah yes, diminishing the club culture over the course of 15 years is an accurate prediction, not an active factor counting against the club. Nice one glowie.

The club is unravelling fast.

It's over for us for a generation.
It's not football anymore anyway. I'm getting increasingly apathetic to it and part of me is not arsed if we fold. I think there's going to be a fair few other clubs following suit in the coming years as well. The world is [Poor language removed], times are getting harder and people are being squeezed more than ever. Maybe watching billionaires and their play things go up in smoke will be more entertaining than watching 22 millionaire morons half arsedly kick a ball around on a Saturday afternoon.

I think it's quite clear that you're not a follower of the good lord Dave. You pretty much single handedly had managed to make optimism illegal in Everton culture, and it was way back during the Cahill days. You are the cancer that killed Everton.
That's harsh mate. Davek has some odd views at times but he is at the very worst a gnat bite.

This is a bit harsh
Whilst I don't agree with everything he posts, Davek is a fan who cares. He's not responsible for the board overseeing our decline

Here's where we are: the fans are demanding Lampard is sacked and a new manager be brought in...but they also want the only people who can take that decision to get out of the club right now.

Can anyone spot a flaw in this masterplan?
They need to protect their investment but I bet they want to also go against the fans.

I don't think it is flawed at all actually.

We probably do need a new manager. But Moshiri has also shown he has no football acumen to make correct appointments. So we need a new boss, but we also need that boss to be selected by someone who has at least some idea what football is about.

Unfortunately the fans have woken up to reality far too late, and there is nothing we can do to stop the slide we are on.

But the logic is not flawed, it's just we are in such a mess that I do not believe there is a short term solution to save us from relegation. We deserve to go down, and we need to take it on the chin and make no excuses - on and off the field we are not good enough.

The club will carry on after Moshiri sells and leaves, even if we are in the championship. But that's what this club needs if we are to ever be proud of our club again. If relegation is needed to regain our identity as a club then that's how it has to be. I will be devastated, but the club will go on and I will hopefully again some day in the future have an Everton I can identify with and be proud of.

I wish I could feel that way.

That'll never happen. Unfortunately.
