The Everton Board Thread

IMO there is no way back for the board now with the fans, so what will interesting is if we see Kenwright etc at Arsenal game, if they do turn up then it will show that the board being told not to attend the Southampton game for their own safety was a load of crap because after all what has come out then the Arsenal game would be 100 times worse for them.

Bill Kenwright took over the club 20 years ago with bluster and promises.
Unfortunately he hadn't a penny to invest, he also had no investors backing him.
He had no experience of football business outside being on the Everton board.

He's always been good at fan and press relations. This and the clever/lucky appointment of Moyes painted over an increasing number of cracks.
He always knew keeping the press onside would cover his tracks.

Over the years the slime at the bottom of the football business pond courted Kenwright as I'm pretty sure his desperation to keep that seat was well known.
I think there were a few close calls avoiding catastrophe in the first 10 years as owner.

Then came Moshiri and Usmanov. It was plain as day that Usmanov was the shady money behind Moshiri (a quick conversation with Kroenke might have shed some light) . A handy investment in a relatively safe industry to dump loads of money. Megafon, Angry Birds, likely Sportspesa, USM and any number of other questionable financial arrangements followed.

Put the head of the clubs successful charity in charge and stick a player legend on the board, that'll appease the customers and stop the boat being rocked.
But as soon a Putin pushed for Kyiv, the wheels came off.

No more clever tricks to circumvent FFP,
All the club could do was focus on completing the biggest money pit of all, BMD.
The stadium that remains the only hope for Moshiri and Usmanov to recoup anything and for Kenwright to ensure a lasting legacy among Evertonians.

Unfortunately it looks like 20 years of chickens are coming home to roost and just before they can fall over the finish line.
And the responsibility all lies with Kenwright.

Gaslighters FC.

Absolutely, disgusting behaviour.

This club is vile, in all honesty is doesn’t deserve the support it gets. All those on the side of the baord need to have a long hard look at themselves.

They’ve just thrown every fan under the bus, the fans that kept them up last year, the fans that were happy to lean in to “goodison gang” bollcoks

I am in absolute shock at how they have come across over the last week.

well they’ve told lies and guess what you filth it’s not saving you even if we’re in the champ

go you liars

So, Merseyside police have issued a statement saying that they are unaware of any threats to the board, or incidents PRIOR TO THE GAME ON SATURDAY. That being the case, it seems highly unlikely that they advised the board against attending due to safety issues. EvertonFC in the 21st century. Absolutely awful on the pitch, absolutely world class at lying to the fans and manipulating the media. Take a bow Bill, you absolute danger.

I truly have no idea how the Board can show their faces at a home game again. Not only was the timing of their little PR stunt an absolute scandal as it placed an inordinate amount of pressure on the manager and players, but the fact that they didn't even try and contain the "threats" they have been receiving to a few individuals and tarnish us all with the same brush is what crosses the Rubicon. Then, when their statement goes down like a lead balloon, you decide to leak to your friendly colleagues in the media that our CEO was physically assaulted by an unidentified assailant, which you curiously don't report to the police.

It's a travesty what has happened, and I just don't see how the club can come together now and stave off our impending doom like we did last season.

Sack the Board. Moshiri sell up.

The question, is who had advised them this? It wasnt the police. So which agency have said it is unsafe?
