The Everton Board Thread

What makes you think that mate?

Surely they could nip it all in the bud if it came out as true and deflect any heat from them.

I don't think they're stupid or malicious enough to make it up.

I think something did happen + they decided to try and keep it quiet. That doesn't explain why they briefed it on Sat.

I could be totally wrong.

The board are clearly rattled, they are trying every little dirty trick to save themselves and deflect attention away from the questions about their ability by trying to turn the narrative to paint us all as violent neanderthals.

Everyone needs to stay focused on the protests, keep turning the screw by highlighting the frauds that they are, they're trying to provoke something nasty at the match, as long as that stays peaceful and the message consistent they won't be able to ride this storm out.

They're finished and they know it.

The problem is it doesn't even need to be nasty to get reported that way. Pre-match was a "torrid atmosphere" of fans, angry at the players according to soccer Saturday. The general narrative is that the fans are to blame.

I don’t know what’s going to happen, it’s worrying. However the club have released information or not denied it and it has taken over the web and news outlets. They have duty of responsibility to say what happened I feel.

I’m not asking them to sack the manager or buy players and trophies. I’m just asking what’s going on here?

It’s not a lot to ask for us.

They've survived in the past by offering sacrificial managers and DoF's in an attempt to appease the fans and sadly it worked but now the fans actually have the sense to see that nothing is going to change unless those at the top are gone, so now they're just hiding and not doing anything, probably hoping we'll eventually divert our anger towards Frank to deflect away from the board and be happy when they finally sack him.

The lack of basic journalistic integrity that is prevalent in this country really comes to the surface in something like this, we have to maintain and control the narrative as much as possible and not give then the chance to peddle their lies against us.

Again it's the fans that will suffer the most but are the only ones who can truly save the club

Apologies if this is almost too personal, but I support Everton primarily because of my grandad. He's been a season ticket holder for decades, he took me to my first game (Villa Oct 04, 1-1), and we've been going ever since.

Some of my most treasured days have been with him at the match. Even last season. The simple pleasure of the pre-match Guinness, the time he was awestruck by meeting David Moyes outside Goodison only to tell him 'I hope you're not here to take Ancelotti's job', the fact he's poor on his feet yet stood up and kept his balance on the ledge at the back of the Paddock just so he could see the last seconds of the United win last season through the crowd...

On the day of United cup defeat he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He's 85, so I can just about get my head around that. It's crap, but it happens. To be honest, what kills me is that the best we've seen Everton manage together was one FA Cup final and one 4th placed-finish, and that his last memories of Everton will probably be relegation and Championship football.

I feel so, so let down and heartbroken by the club and what's happened to them. This isn't the same club I fell in love with 20 years ago.
