The Everton Board Thread

The board are clearly rattled, they are trying every little dirty trick to save themselves and deflect attention away from the questions about their ability by trying to turn the narrative to paint us all as violent neanderthals.

Everyone needs to stay focused on the protests, keep turning the screw by highlighting the frauds that they are, they're trying to provoke something nasty at the match, as long as that stays peaceful and the message consistent they won't be able to ride this storm out.

They're finished and they know it.

Ultimately I think it matters little. The job of any board member is to protect the value of the shares for the shareholders. Since Moshiri owns ~95% of the shares they're all ultimately only doing his bidding. If they leave, nobody will be appointed as replacements that doesn't get approved by him. Most likely, they'll be people we've never heard of who don't live in the city and have never been to the city, but are happy to sit on a board and be happy to be told what to approve for a reasonable payment for almost no work.

Its like the RS when they had their previous yankee owners. Ultimately you can't force majority shareholders out unless they either are willing to sell, or until they suffer some financial catastrophe that forces their hand.

Almost like the police are saying "Move on, nothing to see here"
This dosnt make sense this statement.
Merseyside police say they have no , record of any offence.
And will be contacting the club
Then they are supposed to have advised them not to go the Southampton game.
According to the club statement
Why would the police do that if the had no knowledge of anything before that game, which they have already made a statement saying they had no knowledge of any actions.

They didn’t mate , the board wanted you to think that and I can see why you would but it wasn’t police advice . Read their statement from Saturday , it’s worded so you think it’s the plod but it wasn’t .

I wasn't at the game but talking to one of the lads earlier who went he was saying that there was no more of a Police presence than normal, you would have thought that if they had advised the board on trouble, security risk etc, then there would have been a bigger turn out on the day from the Police.

Apologies if this is almost too personal, but I support Everton primarily because of my grandad. He's been a season ticket holder for decades, he took me to my first game (Villa Oct 04, 1-1), and we've been going ever since.

Some of my most treasured days have been with him at the match. Even last season. The simple pleasure of the pre-match Guinness, the time he was awestruck by meeting David Moyes outside Goodison only to tell him 'I hope you're not here to take Ancelotti's job', the fact he's poor on his feet yet stood up and kept his balance on the ledge at the back of the Paddock just so he could see the last seconds of the United win last season through the crowd...

On the day of United cup defeat he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He's 85, so I can just about get my head around that. It's crap, but it happens. To be honest, what kills me is that the best we've seen Everton manage together was one FA Cup final and one 4th placed-finish, and that his last memories of Everton will probably be relegation and Championship football.

I feel so, so let down and heartbroken by the club and what's happened to them. This isn't the same club I fell in love with 20 years ago.
Sorry to hear about your Grandad mate, that’s terrible news.

Fans like you and him are more important to this club than of those people on the board or those who wear the shirt.

Everton are pondering whether to test all supporters for covid before the next match due to the explosion in cases.

The NHS are unaware of any increases in cases but if the Everton Board say so it must be true.

If the test returns positive supporters will be asked not to attend games for the rest of the season. Everton chairman Bill Kenwright had this to say: "I adored sitting at Goodison during the pandemic lockdowns - it was a simpler time".

The test is performed by looking at your phone and is displayed on the screen, look below to see your status:

Imminent.

Convinced they were scanning randomly people using hand held devices

I know what you mean mate..
I was reading the BBC radio Merseyside , statement and thought that was directly from Everton.

Thank you. I should say, if there is one morsel of a silver lining, he was going to go to Southampton, only for his MRI scan to be arranged at the last minute for the same time

You are totally correct mate.
It's effectively the board who have "instructed" themselves not to attend.
What an unbelievably disingenuous shambles !

I don't think I can go another match this season. Completely fell out of love with the club due to how it's run, and how they treat us fans.
