How can you have an emergency board meeting, without the owner ? Who happens to own 93% of the club. Very strange if this has happened.

if an emergency BOD meeting is called, which any director can do , usually anyone unable to attend has the ability to appoint a proxy or conference call in if they cannot attend in person.

Even if he was you only need 5% of shareholdings to call a gm

Plus as he owns 92.16% of shares any poll vote he can pass just on his own so he can do what he wants.

Hopefully he is dead in the water as he’s a non-entity at the club and therefore not required.

It’s correct that this cannot be the only change at boardroom level however.

I think he should be on the board tbh. It doesn't help that he seemingly fired his first board rep and his second board rep left because of legal issues!

I read an article (on Teamtalk) saying he was due to fly in this weekend and that brands had been in Holland and was flying back for tonight.

I don’t think Moshiri wants to appear as autocratic as that. If the other directors felt strongly about removing Benitez he’d listen.

A similar situation occurred with Silva fwiw, where Kenwright wanted him gone but Moshiri wanted to keep him.

That will be the most likely outcome. I wonder if there will be retribution for the board members who side with Brands over Benitez? Guess we'll see if there is any fall-out over the coming weeks.
