The Everton Board Thread

I just don't understand who would want to relive it either. There's a grim fascination when you're in the situation. Jeapordy, stress (God the stress!) and then the brief high at the end... At the end of the day, though, they were awful football matches.

As you say, celebrating failure. We all know what hangs on Bill's office wall, however.
Their only value is as historical documents, or cautionary tales. I don't think I've ever fully rewatched either game. It's like rewatching a horror movie. Once is usually enough. Like many football matches on DVD, though, the significance of the match changes over time. If Everton had gone on to restore itself to its 1980s status, these matches would take on a different role in our history. But we haven't, so they remain final destinations, almost, rather than frightening but temporary staging points on our way back to the top. Sadly, it looks like they will be seen in a different light come next season. We may well see them as happier moments than we imagined if we go down this season.

Having read the recent posts about the tours and the DVDs and the culture etc. When you view it through the lens of BK being a kopite it starts to make sense

Apparently the stadium tour script hasn't changed in the 20 years since I did it. If you want to make excuses for not renovating stuff just tell us "we're moving next year."

Fair play to them being able to carry out an entire review of the club in 1 day. Not many boards would be able to do that.
Can’t wait for the statement that the review has indicated that an intervention is necessary and that the intervention will be implemented once it has been ratified by the appropriate bodies!!!!

Madness to think that less than two years ago we had Carlo Ancelotti and James Rodriguez at the club.

Incredible mismanagement.
It could be argued that it is was incredible mismanagement that either was here in the first place.

Living far beyond our means is one of the principle factors for our malaise.
