5th January 2032

Everton Football Club is delighted to appoint the club's all-time record appearance holder Seamus Coleman to its board of directors. Coleman, 43, made over 1000 appearances for the club between 2009 and 2030, captaining the side to back to back promotions from League 1. Since retiring, Coleman has assisted David Unsworth as the club's Head of Academy Development, bringing through first teamers such as Liam Osman and Alex Iwobi Jr.

More to follow...

Gone from "Challenge Sharpy" in the matchday programme to making decisions about the future of the club. We want people who know how to run a football club at board level, not another job for the boys appointment which is a virus throughout the club that we are now starting to reap what we sow due to it going on for years.

If anyone thinks this is a good appointment, you should have listed to his punditry on Radio City back in the day, knee jerk reactions galore from him. May as well have appointed a fan from the Gwladys.

Once again, I implore @GrandOldTeam to get us a face_palm emoji. There are too many for this club for this to not be a staple emoji.

It did get a laugh from me which is better than what the club usually does to you emotionally and for that I thank you Bill
