Ndiaye was on the pitch and pretty sure he can play up front and has done loads in his career. This manager has decided he’s strictly a winger that tracks back and doubles up as a full back though so there’ll be absolutely no budging from that position for him.

So we reduce our numbers in midfield and go 5-3-2 when chasing the game?

Or would you leave Keane in defence, Branthwaite left wing and put Ndiaye up front?

There's an Everton support thread on a Fulham forum. The main quotes from it,

Whining at every obvious decision that doesn't go they're way, even turned on they're own at one point for making an obvious back pass, I think they are that teams Achilles heel
Almost as bad as Leeds

I think it was more out of frustration because of their performance and their team not offering anything - definitely not an Achilles' heel.

Everton were awful today couldn't watch that every week

Their fans on their main forum come across as much more knowledgable and fair than they probably do in the ground.

As a club it is a turgid mess that has hung about like a bad smell for too long but their supporters know this and actually come across a decent, realistic bunch.

Bringing Patterson or Dixon on and pushing the wing backs right up would actually make us more attacking by default yes, that could’ve been an option. As could putting Lindstrom in the number 10 and going with more of a midfield diamond. There were options that weren’t akin to a Sunday league team from the 80s sending the centre back up to hoof it to.

Well, Dixon wasn't in the squad, but I get what your saying, replace our right back with a less capable right back returning from injury and move that defender up front. I guess he just moved the wrong defender forwards. He moved one who has scored on a few occasions and will win a header, instead of one who already gets forward when he can and provided the assist from the position he regularly takes up in his role as a right back.

Got it.

Clearly you haven’t got it because I didn’t even remotely suggest that.

And frankly I have no idea what you’ve been watching if you think our current right back “regularly” takes up those positions

Dyche is a terrible manager isn’t he.

Sorry, move that defender forwards.

You suggested playing wingbacks.

Can you not see how open we are to any counter at all in this set-up? By bringing on Branthwaite to deal with any pacey counters he has closed a hole and allowed us to push up more. Young was occupying more forward spaces anyway as we pushed for the equaliser. Amd I'm not sure what you've seen of Lindstrom yet (I've seen absolutely nothing of him beyong what he's done in an Everton shirt) but I don't see him having the work rate to add any strength into what would be a faily open midfield area, one that we'd not really had control of all game.

We are just going to fundamentally disagree on this, and that's cool. Would I normally condone moving a CH into a striking role? Not at all, but I can see why he made the decision he did, when he did, so I find it difficult to berate him to hard on this occasion.

Had he taken McNiel off and moved Keane forward as an unforced change, regardless of whether it paid off or not, I'd be questioning it as well.
