Definitely balls.Balls or unwavering ignorance? Fine line.
Definitely balls.
Ignorance would have seen another chance slip through our fingers
ThisLet's hope we get through the owners test first before thinking of changes to the club and manager if they do change it could still fall through
I see that notorious Roma fan ‘il Davide K’ has been out over night expressing his feelings
Watching James Horncastle on The Athletic podcast there. Gives quite a brutal assessment of TFG mainly centered on poor player and manager recruitment and PSR issues. Doesn't think they are big enough to manage both clubs and the recent issues are going to be a forerunner for the sale of Roma.
I do think recruitment has been an issue for them. They spent relatively big in their first season but got no benefit in league placings and that has continued. The Europa Conference win and Europa League final may have masked their league placings to a degree. It should be much easier to get Top 4 in Serie A for what they spent.
They appear to allow football people to do their jobs though so their choice of DOF and manager when those changes come will be the center of everything, but that's the case for all clubs. You would hope that Everton can be the beneficiary of the mistakes they've made at Roma.
Jose absolutely hates them There's more chance of Klopp coming in than Mourinho.Roma and Everton are different clubs and there is no reason to suggest that Everton will follow down the exact same path under Friekdin.
If anything you would hope that Everton will benefit from any mistakes made at Roma which we hope will have been learned from.
However, the more I read about them I think there may be at least one common thread.... the appointment of a successful high profile manager to get the club onto a higher level quickly.
Jose finally being appointed as Everton manager ?
Bit worrying that the path they are on with Roma is a bit similar to that of Moshiri at Everton. Big ambition, big outlay and big spending without big improvement.
But let's just enjoy the moment for now and hope that it represents a chance to have a big clear out of the dead wood.
They need to quickly decide what they are doing with Dyche and more importantly Thelwell.
My hope is they get a good board who outline a clear direction and employ good people to deliver it. The positives are the stadium on the horizon and we are now relatively debt free.
Interesting / concerning, just read a story on her influence at Roma and allegedly Mourinho referred to her as ‘Vice President’…..There are also "censored" banners against Priscilla Bortoloni. Bortoloni is a girl who started from bottom, a simple secretary who Friedkin gave power to run 'de facto' the nowdays of the club. There are many rumors about the relationship between the girl and Friedkin
They're opening now in Florence. Collegio alla Querce.Wonder if he’ll build a hotel next to ground in due course…… he’s already got a hotel chain (Auberge Resorts) albeit somewhat ‘upmarket’ including locations in London, Greece and Italy

You would think runnings cost for a new build and one from over 100 years old wouldnt be to dissimilar , I get that its bigger but GP must cost thousands to keep that goingEven if we do see a £40m increase just from stadium revenue, people forget costs. Running, maintaining, staffing, securing, heating, cleaning, insuring, BMD will be astronomically more expensive than Goodison. The amount that will trickle to profit (and ultimately cash) will be small. The wins are the revenues where there is zero incremental cost, being mainly sponsorship.
Be interesting to see when they time the “test events”. In theory, we would have to start depreciating the ground, fixtures and fittings, IT equipment etc from the period it starts to be “in use” and revenue generating. From a P&L point of view (irrelevant for cash) we wouldn’t want to kick that off in January, then have to slap 6 months depreciation in the accounts with bugger all other events/revenue/profit until next August.
Don’t know if the test events can be classed as apart of development and needed for safety certificates etc? So the ground wouldn’t actually be “in use” till the next accounting period.
The improvement has to be balanced against the outlay. I would think Roma would expect to be competing for European honours. The headline for Roma was to make them one of the greatest in world football and that's been backed by good investment.I mean there has been improvement. They won their first trophy in 20 years, and have gone from unprofitable to profitable.
This is gossip from dagospia I think. Sometimes these rumors surface, but I doubt there's something true in them. Dagospia is worse than the worst scandalistic tabloid. There are also "censored" banners against Priscilla Bortoloni.
