If Dan and the group pump a billion into Everton and win us a trophy, a European trophy to boot, we will demand a statue built of Dan in his Spitfire. These mad whoppers want them out because they sacked someone who ‘knows the club’. Hopefully this ends in them unloading Roma and focussing on Everton. Lovely stuff.

I think Roma fans have gone mad mate! All this over sacking De Rossi.

These lads have literally put a billion into them and they won a trophy a couple of years back.
Yeah, and it doesnt even seem to be so much about the fact that De Rossi isnt manager, as many think he wasnt good enough at it, but the way he was treated with giving him a 3 year deal then firing him shortly thereafter.

So it seems to me to come down to if they hadnt have given him the 3 year deal and had hired someone else the fans would have been happy.

I can understand that in a way - can’t say Moshiri didn’t invest in Everton, but he’s just incompetent.

Have to say was looking at it last week and their planning does seem a little incoherent. Hopefully they are making their mistakes there.

All that said they seem to have gone to war over stuff that isn’t mission critical - over the top!

You know it’s deep rooted when local politicians are piping up and jumping on the band wagon!
I don't pretend to understand all the nuances of the politics of AS Roma, however I would say re your final paragraph that this wouldn't be the first time that a local politician have used football for cheap.publicity / popularity. Not necessarily deep rooted at all.

Was more thinking of evidential of a entrenched populist sentiment on the ground i was thinking mate. ;)

But maybe my semantics were wrong - apologies.

Roma fans have gone bonkers, Italian fans are like this....and I love it.

This sounds strange to type, but they are less bothered about titles and trophies than we all are.....they don't compare trophy hauls as such, they celebrate the moments, and idolise their hero's....especially from their own City....its bigger than trophies....and De Rossi is not far of Totti on that scale.

Both Rome teams would rather win the 'Derby della Capitale' twice - than win a cup every season...its THAT big.
Bloody hell.

They sound worse than the “he gets us” weirdos on here.

My thinking here...sounds pretty toxic.

Roma fans might ultimately do us a favour.
