If that's not throwing a line out, I don't know what is.

One could read between the lines here, and believe The Friedkin Group have already sounded him out, and the response has been positive.

Wouldn't be my choice.

But as you say reading between the lines and looking at it from TFG point of view he ticks a lot of boxes.

- Relationship with the owners.

- Has had success with them.

- Knows and achieved in the league.

- Raises the profile of the club. Both in Media and commercially.

- "A name" that would prob keep most fans happy and sends out a message of ambition.

If you want to see a manager absolutely galvanise a fanbase and create an unstoppable force, Mourinho for Everton is a match made in heaven.

Is he on the decline? Of course he is otherwise we wouldn't be having this conversation. But, there is no doubt in my mind he would tick a huge number of boxes. Raises our profile, is a proven winner time after time after time after time. 99.9% of the fanbase would get behind him because this fella will have every single soundbite ready and prepared (think of the people's club comment and we can x that by 100).

The question is, does he have the hunger and coaching skills to really maximise the current squad and squeeze more out of it and then work with a DoF where we.wont be spending big and buying big name players.

It would be just as much of a gamble and his rep than it would be a gamble on our part.

I'm not endorsing it btw, I'm just saying it wouldn't be the greatest shock to me if TFG tried to bring him in.

All that mate - part of me just wants to hop on the ride, hed just troll Mordor and be a thing of beauty.

Cant see him building anything though, hed be here for the end product now, which isnt what we need.

Id pay admission to be in a meeting day 1 with him and Kev though, talk about running rings.

He wouldn’t be my first choice for the job but I can see the attraction for TFG. He is a winner, he has a high profile, he will attract players and his appointment makes a statement. On the downside he is a bit past his sell by date and he is very expensive. He will generate debate and he will generate excitement off the pitch if not on it.
If he does come to BMD we will be in the news and hopefully not for all the wrong reasons.
