you'd have thought he would have worked on it at least a tiny bit ha, his world record would probably stand for decades if he could have an amazing start.

Don't think anyone is getting close to his current record for a while but if he started well, I genuinely think he'd have gotten close to about 9 seconds.

Andy Murray's trophy/title record since turning pro in 2005

2 x winner at San Jose
2 x winner at St Petersburg
2 x winner at Brisbane
Career victories in Doha (twice), Marseille, Valencia (twice), Rotterdam, Bangkok, Tokyo, Shenzhen, Vienna and Munich
2 x Cincinnati Masters winner
2 x Madrid Masters winner
2 x Canadian Masters winner
2 x Shanghai Masters winner
Rome Masters winner
5 x Queens Club winner
2 x Wimbledon winner
Davis Cup winner
Olympic Mixed Doubles Silver Medalist
2 x Olympic Gold Medalist
Valencia Open Doubles winner
Japan Open Doubles winner

The OBE will surely get upgraded to a knighthood now

in an individual sport he's become the greatest british tennis player of all time, become the first brit to win wimbledon in forever (massive massive pressure), won GB a gold in their own olympics, become the first tennis player to ever defend their gold medal and won the davis cup pretty much single handedly for GB as well, with a bunch of players barely recognised on the circuit.

Too true, but yeah, if would have worked hard on his start he could have got, what? 9.2? I'm not sure anyone would ever touch that

they still haven't mentioned the canadian getting bronze
NBC surprisingly got it in there. After showing Gaitlin with the flag they started a replay of the race and mentioned de grasse getting Canada's first 100m medal since 19xx (can't remember the year they said,

Of course he's worked hard on his start. He probably works on it just as hard as the rest on a daily basis. It's just physically impossible for a man of his height to accelerate at the same rate as Gatlin and co. or have the same cadence.

Still buzzing after that..going for a run
