In cold blood by truman capote
Karlology by Karl pilkington
Wonders of the universe by Brian cox
Stalin ate my homework by alexei Sayle

All excellent

Spike Milligan's series, Adolf Hitler- my part in his downfall, etc. One of the few writers able to make me lol.
Groucho,I've not had much time for Sayle, but I'll give it a shot.

This is a good book, and makes a change from the usual stuff coming out of Sweden.

For a satire on war, I can also recommend Svejk (pronounced Shweyk).

Got into Czech literature a bit recently. Didn't find Franz Kafka all that though. The Trial was interesting but found it just got a bit too absurd and laborious by the end. I suppose it would have made much more sense during Communist times (although the Czech's have bizarrely elected a Communist president this month - ugh!), even though it was written in 1914 or something.

Thumbs up on The Catcher,

Just finished war and peace wasnt overly impressed to be honest!

Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy must be read before you die it should be law or something! Worst thing they ever did was make a movie out of it.

I wasn't impressed by Catcher in the Rye, didn't feel anything much really happened. The only 'literary' books I've read that I really enjoyed have been:
To Kill a Mocking Bird
East of Eden
Of Mice and Men (I like Steinbecks writing)
Life of Pi

Writers I have enjoyed reading a lot are - John Connelly, Mark Billingham, Gerald Seymour, Christopher Brookmyre(ugly One Morning is brilliant) & Mo Hayder.
