Got sent this the other day. If you're familiar with Porter's 5 Forces, he employs a similar framework to describe how messed up American politics is. Might be of interest to @LinekersLegs and our other American politico types.

That and Post Office are great books about low life - lots of boozing and humping going on while working at crap jobs. Page-turners.I just ordered Factotum by Bukowski. Any opinions on it?

Read that a while ago. It's the one with the spiders yeah? Was pretty good. If you like that kind of sci fi I have really enjoyed so far a series of books by a lady called G Cockel. First one is called Archangel Down. The kindle versions are often on sale for 99p on Amazon.Just getting into Children of time by Adrian Tchaikovsky a bit of Sci-Fi.Enjoying it intriguing story lines very readable.
...or even C. Gockel (he said, after a lengthy search experience).a lady called G Cockel
Read that one years ago based on a recommendation. Agree with your assessment—-it’s not nearly as clear or profound as the author (Pirsig?) suggestsJust finished Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. Not sure what to think about it, a lot of the concepts seem very muddled (in my opinion) and in the last few pages it seems to be a struggle between Plato & Aristotle that isn’t anything new (despite using the word ‘Quality’ at any given opportunity).
Unless its a new film version, stop at the book...maybe book 2 as well.Reading Dune in prep for the film.
