Jesus' Son by Denis Johnson is a great book if you like those Bukowski novels. Stuff like post office is feels more real as he did actually work those jobs, but Johnson is a better writer. Which is saying something as CB is top drawer himself.
Excellent read.
The author put the book together after interviewing the survivors of the 2008 K2 disaster, when eleven people died in a 24 hr period.
Pulls no punches about the mistakes that were made, but at the same time a very emotive read.

Read that a while ago. It's the one with the spiders yeah? Was pretty good. If you like that kind of sci fi I have really enjoyed so far a series of books by a lady called G Cockel. First one is called Archangel Down. The kindle versions are often on sale for 99p on Amazon.

Just finished Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. Not sure what to think about it, a lot of the concepts seem very muddled (in my opinion) and in the last few pages it seems to be a struggle between Plato & Aristotle that isn’t anything new (despite using the word ‘Quality’ at any given opportunity).

Read that one years ago based on a recommendation. Agree with your assessment—-it’s not nearly as clear or profound as the author (Pirsig?) suggests
Reading Dune in prep for the film.
Unless its a new film version, stop at the book...maybe book 2 as well.
There are several prequel books which are ok too.
3D and IMAX...not looking good so far.

IMO only obvs, (like King's The Dark Tower) it needs a 50 episode Game of Thrones treatment to do it justice
