Utter Cad.
Read it in 1988. Just re-read it. Still the best book I've ever read (and, somehow, a sister book to The Great Gatsby).

The old man and the sea. Just done it in audio book. Lovely.
you enjoy it mate.Just finished (and beign just shy of 1000 pages I was glad to) Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts.
Brutal but ultimately uplifting if a little repetitive.
Been on a Hemingway kick. Bought a couple books, read them first, then followed up listening to 'em. Always eventually got annoyed by the narrator's doing the female characters voices. I guess "Old Man And The Sea" would be a great listen in that regard.
Farewell To Arms is still my fave.
Mostly been reading a lot of work related books recently, but did indulge in a bit of mountain porn with the wonderful Mountain Higher, which looks at 30 or so of the more hidden treasures you can cycle up in Europe.

Thinking, Fast and Slow by Daniel Kahneman is very good (so far)
