BBC made a TV prod for it but read the book, it's better.
All his books are great. I particularly enjoyed his recent War of the Rose's series. A very underrated author, second only to Bernard Cornwell for historical fiction imo.View attachment 28230
excellent book.think i have seen it on here before.it is the second book of a 5 part series on genghis khan and his family.didn't think i would like them but once you starting reading them, very hard to put down.
Depends on what type of humour you find funny. You could try any of the Flashman books, particularly the first. They're just brilliant and I can't recommend them highly enough from either a humorous or historical standpoint. Three men in a boat is also worth a read.I need cheering up. Anybody have any recommendations for humorous books ?

Yes, I didn't enjoy them as much as either the Roses or the Conqueror (The Genghis Khan) series but they were good all the same and definitely worth a read, I just preferred the time periods of his latter work. I think they were the first book's he wrote and he's grow better and better over time.ya love these books.i think i will try the emperor series after this set, then maybe try the roses series.have you read the emperor series?
