Met him once. No surprise to hear it was in a pub- on his own with his feet up by the fire surrounded by about 18 empty bottles and no sign of stopping. Was an absolutely fantastic guy!

I remember a test at Headingly, where he was joining in with the naughty songs, the crowd where signing about him, when he was in the outfield.
He was impossible to dislike.
Maybe I'm an evil person, but I don't get too emotional* about people dying that I don't know, but I was genuinely gutted hearing about him.
