It’s lovely here now, a cooling breeze from the East as we watched the kids togger.

Then come home and my house temperature is inferno as I closed all the windows to go watch the kids togger.

Haha not particularly, but my girlfriend kept saying she did. I just thought she was going mad in the heat until I read your post.

I've just gone and asked her about it now and apparently your fingers swell when you get hot - something to do with the body trying to cool down

So the bit where it says between 1983 and 2003 it ROSE 14%, and the bit where it says between 2004 and 2013 it ROSE by less than 2%. Which one of those bits shows deaths going down? Because I'm clearly not seeing what you're seeing.

Toffee, i'm gonna just try to help you understand this...here's the full quote:

Their data show that, between 1983 and 2003, mortality increased by 14% for each degree above the temperature considered a heat wave, which in Madrid is 36ºC, in Córdoba 40ºC and in A Coruña 26ºC. Between 2004 and 2013, however, the situation changed: mortality rose by less than 2% for each degree above the heat wave benchmark.

2% rise is less than a 14% rise.

Here's the other full quote:

“In 2003 there was a brutal heat wave, in Spain, 6,600 people died in 15 days.” It was the summer that fans sold out in Paris and Rome and around 70,000 Europeans died.

And here's what you said:

600 people have died from heat related issues in Spain and Portugal. Just the bleedin media panicking everyone though.

Mate, you linked one article which actually showed numbers of heat related deaths are going up, but claimed it said they were going down. But yeah, facts

600 deaths is less than 6,600 deaths.
